@PluginBoutique Is something wrong with your website? It says my username/password is wrong (although I use a password manager) and resetting doesn't result in an email from you. Help!

@DrKnowItAll16 This is exactly what the Dutch government has been doing for years. I've had to pay tax over my $TSLA shares, rated at 12/31 for years now. Fair or not, it's the reality I live in.

I was just looking at my $TSLA holdings (which I never do—amnesia is a good thing!) and I’m all time down 10.5%. This is fine—I’m holding til 2030+. The question is: if US congress wants to levy taxes on unrealized stock gains, can I count this unrealized loss against my income at tax time? And what value is it that they want to use in the first place? Is it the value of the stock on 12/31, which seems incredibly arbitrary? Or the average over the 12 months? The whole idea is so patently ridiculous even from a practical point of view that it’s mid boggling. And let’s not forget that this is double taxation as Tesla already had to pay taxes on any shares people bought from them in the first place since that counts as income.

A little test I made using Wonder Studio closed beta. It does everything for you! Mocap the actor, create the clean plate, estimate the lighting, render a cg character and composite it all. Pretty impressive! @WonderDynamics

@TheRookiesCO Hoping to reach you this way. I've sent an email to hello@therookies.co regarding an invoice (from vfxim@ahk.nl). Could you please follow up on it? I need it badly. Thanks.

@beforesmag I had to look up some "details" to see if it was accurate. To my shock it was. I had a completely different memory of how it played out somehow.

@andreasklinger @LumaLabsAI But you know it's not a 3D rendering, right? But still, it's certainly impressive and at some point in the future it might actually be a 3D render (or at least be able to be incorporated in a 3D renderer).

Do I know someone on here who lives in Toronto? Or knows someone that lives there? Looking for people that are good with camera/data/set protocol. Please DM for details.

@tomdeerberg @LumaLabsAI On this particular scene, you might get more detail with ‘traditional’ photogrammetry. But once you start to introduce wet/reflective surfaces in the mix, I think they have the upper hand. Also, this is beta… And it looks like they’re developing quickly, so I’ll keep following.

@meken @LumaLabsAI Thank you so much. I which luma would use some kind of ai to calculate more precise model or delight textures. Feels to me, as they use ai mostly to create fancy 360 videos

My first #NeRF of a forest hut. I couldn't quite get all the angles needed, but it still turned out great! @LumaLabsAI

@meken @LumaLabsAI impressive! Can you show a non texture view? Im very curios how the mesh is coming out.

@flgrm2 @LumaLabsAI Is it crazy for me to think that the next step would be for Luma to extract not just a diffuse/albedo map, but also a specular map? My gut feeling says this might be possible. I'm almost sure they're working on it now. 🤞

Stumbled upon this burnt-out car, captured a quick @LumaLabsAI NeRF out of it to see the mesh I could get. 3 min scan around the car with Iphone 12 Pro, 40 min processing.

@gravicle @LumaLabsAI I'm amazed by the amount of parallax in the background, even though the focus of the user was the foreground object. Pretty neat. If only I could be one of those beta testers as well! 😉

@meken @LumaLabsAI This is from one of our beta users. But generally you go around the object a couple of times, takes 2 min or so.

@noelc @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula Haha. Yeah I had the same "problem" when I used my own house as a photogrammetry test subject. Neighbour asked what I was doing and if I was telling the house! 😂

@meken @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula Should do some meetups maybe. So I’m not the only weirdo a lowly pacing around a tree haha. Being into street photography is one thing. But passerby’s will def notice and ask “what are you doing” and they are never not interested when you explain or show them the result.

@noelc @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula Oh good info. I'm mostly interested in environments actually. Maybe some sort of stitching could be a possible solution? Can't wait to see where these developments go though.

@meken @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula I still love Polycam for the speed and fact I can capture full environments (which seems not possible yet on mobile (due to RAM maybe won’t be ever or for a long while)). But for objects it’s not even comparable I think.

@noelc @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula Those thin threads are pushing the limits a bit, but the artifacts aren't that distracting. And the fact that this is probably more detail than you'd be able to get with photogrammetry alone, is just crazy.

@LumaLabsAI I've filled out the form yesterday. I'm really interested in scanning environments, rather than single objects. Most interested in transferring the result (maybe not as a 3d object?) over to Unity or Unreal to enable scouting of a location in VR.

Today we are launching the ability to export your captures as diffuse 3D assets! Everyone with an iPhone can now be a 3D artist 🎨 If you are not in the beta and you have interesting plans to use these exports reply to this tweet for access (and fill out lumalabs.ai/waitlist)

@vibrantnebula @LumaLabsAI The reflections are certainly one of the big differentiators in a good way from other types of scans.

@iBrews But even for light baking, wouldn't you use the GPU version of that anyways?

When choosing a CPU for #UnrealEngine, remember that multicore is great for shader compiling and lightmass baking, but for real-time performance it’s going to primarily be a single core, so get something high high speed! #uetips
