The court has interpreted the law about what businesses should recognise as a woman. Unfortunately, the law is stupid and needs to change.

@Ryandally08 Since when is the daily telegraph left wing lol that is the first time I’ve heard a Murdoch rag described as left wing 🤣 that said we do have a major problem with the government the do whatever they want because there is essentially no opposition in parliament to block them.

@MTee_MTee @warcroft @Westpac I’ve been getting letters from ANZ demanding my personal information or they will restrict my account. I haven’t had an account with ANZ for 5 or 6 years.

WTF @Westpac You're restricting my account because I wont give you all my personal information? EG: Employer, income, etc. It really isn't any of your business. I've had the account for 30+ years. Fk you.

@natxou @CodeEdison Older millennials were just entering the job market not long after the .com bust but genx were the ones who went through all the layoffs so no they didn’t have it easy, It’s not a competition the shit is cyclical.

I am feeling jealous whenever I see 40+ (age) guys in tech. -Got their jobs in IT, when there was no competition. -Now in senior or managerial roles -Now might be earning in crores -Had smooth career, no fear of AI or layoffs -People respected them for being software engineers -They are the main reason many parents forced their children to become software engineers... -They have accumulated enough wealth, they are not fearing layoffs

@onsennototonou @CodeEdison Lol Google mainly hired people with PHDs in the early 2000s also u might want to learn some history about the .com bust the tech job market was trash back then.

@CodeEdison I heard even back in the early 2000s, if they knew the term "Java", they were hired by Google.

@Nerdsauce1 @aidaknx The worst part was when a print design agency did the design and they gave you a flattened PSD to implement it because why would u need the layers its not like u need to lift the elements out of the psd or anything since everything is an image.

@melchoy @aidaknx The worst part of all, was you'd go to all that effort to design a cohesive layout that worked and looked good, only to have it IMMEDIATELY broken the moment you tried to view the site/page on any other screen ratio. Suddenly nothing lined up and entire sections would move.

@melchoy @aidaknx I also designed a fair number of custom sites and even profile pages/channel layouts exactly like this. People wanted their backgrounds to show through and use lots of transparency cos it looked "cool and futuristic". Wasn't fun to implement and slowed loading like crazy.

@iskandargames @hewarsaber You're right it wasn't possible with CSS thats why it was done with background images. Sure this exact design didn't exist but there were plenty of designs that were close to this sort of aesthetic and they were terrible.

@hewarsaber It never looked like this. This wasnt possible after 2015-2020 long after CSS3 had universal compatibility with browsers. I bet you dont know about browser vendor prefixes for CSS without asking Chatgpt for it you massive larper

@Yep_ItsMeAgain @aidaknx Then designers started to imitate this aesthetic on the web. I know because I was stuck implementing these sorts of designs while screaming at the designers. This style wasn't the entire internet but it was pretty prevalent.

The person in the picture is misremembering Windows Vista and early Windows 7 for the entire internet. Most of the early internet used flat designs and colors that would please the eye. Liquid glass was apart of windows Vista Operating system themes and that's what they're remembering.

@plainionist AI can generate code fast, but it'll happily generate a mess just as fast, and it compounds whatever patterns already exist. Without solid fundamentals, you're just scaling technical debt. Clean code keeps the flow understandable for humans and gives AI clearer context to follow.

I am actually curious. If junior devs are using Claude to write code at a senior level... And senior devs are using Claude to write code at a senior level... What exactly is the difference between the two roles right now, other than a $100k gap in salary?

And someone without the fundamental just vibe coding will not be able to do that. AI in the hands of an experienced developer is very different to aaI in the hands of a vibe coder who thinks code quality doesn’t matter. I never said u had to write code by hand I said code quality still matters.

@melchoy @hasen_95dx Spend more time on the architecture and iterating/testing (I.e. the foundation) than writing code that an LLM can do 100x as fast then? I can write code and with proper guidance LLMs write some pretty clean well documented code
