I have received with profound shock and deep sadness the news this evening of the passing of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Mheshimiwa Johana Ng’eno. My friend, Mheshimiwa Ng’eno, was a progressive and devoted servant of the people who worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr, Narok County. He was focused, vocal, and fearless; a leader who stood firmly for justice and equity for all. He will be remembered for the tangible progress achieved under his leadership and his exemplary commitment to promoting local talent, especially in music. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, the people of Emurua Dikirr, and all the victims and families affected by the helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.

@Dr_AustinOmondi You cannot compare loss of HE William Ruto and Sifuna. Not even one MP from Western is a staunch supporter of Sifuna. William Ruto had all MPs from Rift Valley Together.

ODMs biggest loss was that of William Ruto who left with the entire army of Rift Valley MPs. The void was noticeable and this would eventually cost Raila his reelection as President in 2013. ODM however not only survived but thrived. Will Sifuna’s exit be what finally breaks ODM?

@rigathi We condemn the recent attacks on churches. We have not forgotten the tragedy in Kiambaa village on 1st Jan 2008, when innocent lives were lost. Places of worship must remain sanctuaries of peace, never targets of violence.

I thank God for His Mercy and Kindness. I thank the residents of Othaya for helping my private security to evacuate me to safety. I am now safe having just arrived at my Wamunyoro residence. I request thousands of my supporters waiting for me in Othaya Town and Kiawara to peacefully go home as our vehicles have been disabled and sound systems dismantled. Please note that the killler squad backed by the local police are all over the two venues and we don’t know their intention after failing to assassinate me inside a church. My gratitude to all leaders and the people of Kenya for coming out to condemn this heinous act by Mr. William Ruto. God is in control and his power surpases that of William Ruto.

I am deeply shocked to learn of the passing on of Dr. Bill Kaunda Gwendo (bespectacled and in forest green kaunda),a distinguished member of the Youth Senate Kenya and former president of the Mt Kenya University Students Association(MKUSA).This is in deed a big loss to his family, friends and the entire youth leadership fraternity in Kenya. Bill embodied humility, discipline and selfless service. In spite of his young age, he led with wisdom, integrity, respect and genuine commitment to uplifting the youth. His contribution in student leadership and youth advocacy will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to the family, friends, the Youth Senate Kenya and the Mt Kenya University Community following this loss. May the soul of Bill Kaunda rest in eternal peace.

The Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation team today did make its way to Itibo Rianyabaro at Bomorenda Ward in Bonchari constituency. The cardinal goal was to support Mzee Zacharia Nyamao after a very long time of neglect and living in very dehumanizing conditions. In the course of my village visits, my friend Ruth approached me and pleaded with me to visit mzee and assess his situation. In her company, I made my way to Mzee's home and my heart was shattered. In deed, at 83 years, he was by himself in his bed immobile, dejected and desolate. I couldn't stop tears from rolling down my cheeks because Mzee was like my grandfather. I empathised with his situation because not only was he unable to walk but even finding food was a problem. I did ask myself if as a society we have become so heartless, bereft of any modicum of human decency to at least ensure our elderly and disabled people live decently. It is against this backdrop that I saw it fit to come and offer support to Mzee. Through the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation, we donated food supplies, beddings and other essentials that will enable him to live with dignity. My clarion call to our people is to always espouse empathy, humanity and see themselves in the suffering of others. At no point should we inferiorise, dehumanize and make the elderly and those living with disabilities responsible for the situation they are in. If we pursue the route of making them feel responsible for their suffering, we will be hanging on a cliff so precipitously that we might trade empathy for indifference. Last year the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation concentrated on donating books to local schools in support of education of learners in rural needy schools but this year we are happy to announce that we have expanded our wings to capture the sickly, elderly, PWDS and the vulnerable in our Community in a bid to impact the lives of our community.
