@jar_jar_mel Totally agree and writing my PhD about this. It feels like an incredibly overlooked part of an individual’s experience

Our clothes, our hair, our accessories, and our bodies in general will matter to our patients and will come up in therapy, especially if you’re a woman therapist. There’s no way to avoid this. There’s no way to escape the planet on which we live.

@socandtherapy I think it has a strong flavour, we were advised by our vets to start with small quantities mixed into usual food and build up from there. Good luck

@zcooper373 @Therapists_C @PsychChatter I'm in private practice and it forms a small proportion of my work, it has been helpful at times when talking therapy hasn't seemed enough to meet a client's needs. When effective it can be very powerful

Listening is simple, & difficult. Ordinary, & extraordinary. A way of doing, & being. We need more, & better listening. How do we describe something that is so experiential & beautiful? A bit like art, or love. How do we honour listening, & not reduce it to a list of ‘top tips’?

I know what will cheer us all up (or at least be a distraction). You request a gif from me and I might make it #PhilippasGifs

“All these layers of cynicism that I’d spent years carefully applying to myself like fake tan, I’d torn them all off that day." James O’Brien on why he decided to go to therapy, and how it changed him.

If we reframe “mental health” as “everyday quality of life for everybody” - we probably wouldn’t require annual reminders of how important it is. Let’s not stop promoting awareness - but let’s remember that mental health is all of us, every single day.

We are going to be wearing masks for sometime We are all in this pandemic together, but we are also on this planet together with wildlife already on the brink Discarded masks can kill wildlife Dispose of masks responsibly or better yet, get a reusable one 🙏

"If you are alone, the country is your companion; and nature becomes Nature, a person, someone to whom you can almost talk. You do not only walk through measured miles; you sit, dreaming, contemplating, absorbing it all, through unmeasured minutes." ~C.R.Milne #FridayFeeling
