For the record, the president of the United States is now simultaneously claiming that he has won the war, is currently winning the war, needs help to win the war, and needs no help to win the war. All to destroy the nuclear program he claims to have already destroyed last year.

When I told #SmallProphets creator Mackenzie Crook there was a lot of kindness in his previous show, #Detectorists, he said, "Yes, thank you and that’s deliberate, because I think it’s a superpower, almost. If people were kinder in general the world would be a better place."

On this day 41 years ago, the world got to see the very first episode of #Neighbours. The show finished for good late last year, hot on the heels of a 40th celebration tour around the UK and nearly 10,000 episodes #retro #nostalgia #soaps

A woman gets sexually assaulted in her hotel bed while she's literally asleep. Some random dude strolls up to Travelodge reception at 2am, drops her name, claims "I'm her boyfriend," and they just... hand him her room number and a key card. No call to the room. No ID check. No "hey, does she know you're coming?" Nothing. She wakes up to the nightmare. He gets convicted. And now, in 2026, Travelodge has to announce a shiny new policy: Staff must actually get explicit consent from the actual guest before giving anyone else access to their room. Let that sink in. This wasn't some high-tech security failure. This was "don't hand strangers the key to a sleeping woman's private room" needing to be written down as official rules because it apparently wasn't before.

Ed Davey has to give up his second job, that he was using to put money aside for the future for his son who will need a carer 24/7 after public pressure. Farage gets 27k to fly to Mar a Lago and no one bats an eyelid. I hate it.

Weird thing about Travelodge comms: ‘They followed procedures correctly’ = WORST possible message. Implies anyone staying in any Travelodge can expect staff to hand out room keys in the middle of the night to anyone who knows your name. Doubt that was the crisis comms goal.

Tonight Tony Blair, who led us into a needless war in Iraq, and Donald Trump, who is a borderline incoherent racist, attacked Keir Starmer - our elected PM who kept us out of an illegal war. I know whose side I am on.

It is worth considering that if Badenoch or Farage were Prime Minister, the UK would now be actively participating in a war with no defined end state, having not been consulted or involved in the planning. Some do not learn from history.

I’m not a fan of Starmer, but whatever he does – literally whatever he does - he is ripped apart, ripped to shreds, by the telegraph, Mail, express, Sun, spectator, the very same people who installed Boris Johnson and the appalling Liz Truss. The same people who installed the governments that caused Brexit and the financial chaos that has ensued, the same people who have driven this country into the ground. I’m sick to death of them. They are the biggest threat to this country and all of us across the board, no matter what our politics are. We need to get billionaires out of the Media

I don’t want my tax being spent on facilitating the return of these extremists from Dubai to the UK. They clearly despise our culture and way of life and they should seek refuge in the first safe country they arrive in. Am I doing this right?🤔

At this juncture you people are trolling a man with a disability, open and shut. He spent his formative years apologising for something not in his gift to stop. Do you understand how damaging that is to the psyche? Apologising day in, day out for having no malice or malintent? It plays on the mind and John has spoken candidly about his suicidal ideation because of that. The 2 beautiful black men who, yes, were stunned, are also intelligent enough, inquisitive enough to have read John's statement which is sincere. But to apologise for a disability raises so many questions that John deliberately, through his campaigning, documentaries and film tries to answer. If he apologises, what is he apologising for? Something he has no control over? A verifiable, medical industry diagnosed condition? We are going down a rabbit hole if the disabled have to apologise for being. The 2 actors are black men, a cohort of humanity who literally were told to apologise for attempting to go into a school or ride a bus but because brave campaigners fought for the right not to be "other", segregation no longer is a legal reality. So instead of outlets like yours quoting "outrage and disgust" from "sources close to the actors", maybe in good time we'll hear from them, in context and in clarity. The only wiggle room anyone has morally when arguing for an apology is courtesy. That John choses to call the men and informally explain his condition, the scenario on the night ( stressful for a Tourettes sufferer) and offers just a personal "I hope you understand". A common courtesy many would agree with. But be under no illusion, John needs not to apologise for his disability and any explanation of his condition to anyone offended by words he involuntarily said should be his choice, in his time and in tne basis that he can not ( UK law backs this up) be blamed for an involuntary act. Your headline and desperate need for this to be about racism when in fact it is about disability and the grey area of involuntary act meeting understandable offence, an area that if outlets like you took the heat out of the situation would more than likely happen between the 3 men.
