So many good players but just didn’t go for it. Inhibited almost. Failed to react tactically or with any real energy or defiance when City took control of midfield. Arsenal must use that frustration as fuel to drive them to the trophy that matters most - the title. 🚨JUST IN: Jurrien Timber has been ruled out for weeks after withdrawing from the Netherlands squad. Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has pulled out of the Netherlands squad ahead of the March internationals, with the Dutch FA confirming he “has not yet sufficiently recovered from an injury.” Initial hopes were raised when Ronald Koeman named Timber in his 26-man Netherlands squad on Friday for upcoming friendlies against Norway and Ecuador. However, the defender has now been withdrawn and replaced by Sunderland’s Lutsharel Geertruida. Dutch FA confirms Timber absence “Sunderland defender Lutsharel Geertruida has been added to the Netherlands national team squad by national coach Ronald Koeman. This follows the withdrawal of Jurrien Timber (Arsenal), who has not yet sufficiently recovered from an injury and is therefore unavailable for this international break.” Speaking before the Carabao Cup final, manager Mikel Arteta offered insight into the expected recovery timeframe for both Timber and Odegaard. “They couldn’t make [the final], so I think they will still be a couple of weeks [away from returning]. Completely deserved result and full credit to City. Match was pretty simple in the end - Pep went with a very aggressive M2M and high line, betting that Arsenal couldn't or wouldn't play it long and have the technical level to find out balls. He was 100% right. From the 20th min to the 70th, could barely get out of their own half bc the composure and touch quality was abysmal. I sent a text at half saying that if Arsenal don't change their approach to the M2M, they're done and that's exactly what happened. You have to earn the right to win, City earned that tonight, Gunners didn't. #arsenal
