Two DPD officers then shot the suspect multiple times after the suspect allegedly refused to drop a firearm in an apartment vestibule mid-block between California and Stout on 16th. @N76247476Man Spirit pilots were paid commensurate with industry average. In fact less than the Big 3 legacy carriers. Low cost airlines don’t get discounts on fuel and shouldn’t get discounts on labor.

Any airliner must be 70% to 80% full to break even on operation cost. Anything after that is considered profit. When you have a union that forced a budget airline to pay captains 300,000 a year it cannot be sustainable. Spirit was doomed from 2010 after the pilots strike.

At one point, airlines were a luxury experience. Now, they treat people like factory farm animals and don’t even attempt to pretend other wise. If we’re so rich & great, why are so many things declining in this country?

Alot of Black people lost their jobs because of Spirt’s demise. Alot more Black people lost affordable ways to travel. Spirit shutting down isn’t something to celebrate. Especially given the impetus of its demise. There’s alot of elitism I see in comments about this. It’s sad.
