Propeller Heaven 5/5. Very confusing at first, but once what is happening is revealed, it is really hard not to see it as something special.

@inkblotPrincess Honestly the main point in which I just have to sit down and go "That's an interesting worldview." Like you said, it works well in Umineko, but not too well in other places.

@inkblotPrincess While Ryukishi doesn't do it directly in the text of Higurashi, in one of the author's notes at the end, he brings up the idea of Teppei, Satoko's abusive uncle, possibly deserving redemption in a similar vein, and that really stuck out to me there.

Might be a strange claim devoid of context but the more I think about Silent Hill f's story the lower my opinion starts to get of Umineko lol

@inkblotPrincess Could you elaborate on what you are referring to by “specific context” here? Not fully sure I understand what you are referring to.

Silent Hill f touches on a lot of the same narrative beats as Umineko re: how we connect to family, handle abuse, etc. but removes them from the specific context that I had previously used to frame Umineko's message positively

It's interesting how the Malduk "anti-robot" sentiment in the film is laundered through the concept of human rights.

@Furubafani Haven't even seen the last two mentioned in these discussions. Just Arakawa, Takahashi, and Takeuchi. The tokenism really is apparent.
