A very small margin of increasingly irrelevant actors around tpot get upset at a few aspects of my online behavior which I am extremely deliberate and self-aware about:
1. My willingness to engage with people or entities they determine as “unsafe”,
2. My tendency to throw birds at people in the shower a la Hitchcock to produce works with almost zero regards to how people feel about it;
3. A borderline ruthless dedication to avoiding preference falsification when it comes to collaboration;
4. Ageism where I will compare the works of 30+ year olds to the 20-ish year old contemporaries I know: a lack of patience for arrested development and late reinvention, an overwhelming dedication to “passing the torch” over preserving the Unc,
4(a). An overwhelming dismissal of the elder millennial Loser Male and disagreement spaces for them should even exist, with all the systemic advantages they squandered, doubly so if they grew up wealthy.
5. I know too much and hold extremely forbidden knowledge which is highly inconvenient to the stability of different ingroup elites and it scares the hell out of them to where they sometimes physically run away from me at IRL events.
Some of you reading this will be like “oh shit! he’s talking about the people who say Somewhere is an alignment risk and try and Metcalfe n+1 ban people from interacting with him!” and yes — some of you have been dragged into the very small corner of interactions online which involve me and have come to me confused about why this is happening. And I’m inspired by @SHL0MS discussing the importance of ‘dominating the narrative’ as well as a responsibility with everyone’s increased cultural momentum, some of us breaking now into Macroculture — which I knew would happen, which is why I severed ties with people who couldn’t handle that level of involvement — it’s high time and a bit overdue for me to become more legible.
I’ve talked about quirks of “why a very small population of some people on here don’t like me” but I haven’t talked about my actual motivations:
1. To get people who remind me of younger me to become older me faster, avoiding wasting time;
2. To chase the source and method of creation of timeless works;
3. To build substrate which matters;
4. To reveal the divide between ‘influencers’ and people who actually matter;
5. To get people to travel up the gradient getting closer to what actually matters.
All of these things have historically — well before I was ‘somewheresy’ run me into conflict with wastemen, brought me closer to the source of Truth and Capital and Timeless Works of which I have been lucky to participate maybe once or twice in, and been something I have observed nonchalantly from exiting my hometown to exiting ‘scenes’ to exiting workplaces.
You have to ask yourself. There are scenes on here which will reform almost any behavior — scenes which hid pedophiles for years, scenes which justify sexual predation and assault which seems to happen cyclically, scenes which will justify almost any male behavior and work to silence women who come forward to talk about the inefficiency of even bright parallel systems and hand kangaroo courts into the hands of methadone patients and never actually solve the underlying problem of “some types of guy shouldn’t have scenes at all” and “you can’t struggle session your way out of the way some men just are” and “some crazy people are bad crazy and you have to avoid them”. I don’t have any skeletons like that. If you have the gumption to doxx me and run my name through a background check you wouldn’t even find a parking ticket, let alone anything more serious. You may find a $500M venture fund saying I have unerring taste and creative understanding.
The bottom line is I won’t stop doing any of this and I will never be sorry for it.
