I talked to a Vinfast Green SM driver today in Dwarka. He is very happy with the car and with the amount he is earning. He has earned more than ₹40k so far from rides after paying the agreed upon commission to VF. The one's who are complaining, according to him are some free loaders who thought that ₹35k salary is fixed and they would not have to take any rides. 3 months of free charging is provided to them which they access through a VinFast app. It mostly consists of EESL stations as of now managed by electreefi. Surprisingly chargers in gated societies were also listed. Coming from driving an ICE in the past, he said he loved driving this car. Does not feel tired at all and plugs in the car every 2 days. Range is ~300km He admits that end user rates are high and vary a lot as there is no base pricing yet. A customer was charged ₹250 for a ~3.5 km ride. May be it will be sorted soon but for him it is cost for travelling in a luxurious vehicle and opportunity for higher earning. If the customer is ready to pay — it doesn't concern him. I asked him for an interview but he declined due to obvious reasons.

Today I visited a Tata showroom to buy a new car, but one car left me completely confused. Standing there was the Tata Curvv.EV Empowered X 55 kWh priced at around ₹20.4 lakh. I wondered, what makes this SUV so special ? That's when the salesperson explained The car runs on battery and has a blinding accelaration. It gives a range of 400-425 kms In traffic or while standing still, it consumes minimal power and you can idle it for hours And the most surprising part ? It can even power your house incase of power outages. And if you have solar installed, the running cost is almost 0 Everything sounded impressive. But then one question came to my mind Is a ₹20.4 lakh EV SUV really worth the money, or is it just an expensive deal marketed in the name of lower running cost? If you had a budget of ₹22 lakh, would you trust EV technology and buy this car, or would you choose a different SUV instead ?
