I grew intrigued when I saw this statement in my feed and so it required that I confirm its authenticity. Indeed! Music *is* math. And it’s math because *sound is numbers in motion* and we don’t experience it as numbers, but as EMOTION. A musical note is a *frequency.* A frequency is a NUMBER. You don’t need to think mathematically to feel mathematically. Our nervous system does the work for us. It’s our neurological calculator. And behind the scenes, it detects patterns and ratios that affect how we perceive reality. That’s only the tip of the iceberg. I love music! We interact with music when we HEAR it. We feel it in our gut. Our brains react to it. And we interact with it energetically through the vibrations hitting the electromagnetic field that is up to 6 ft around us like a donut 🤯 Where are my people who regularly like to talk about this stuff at 😁🫶🏻
El Duderino@pebkac101

Well, fundamentally, music IS math.

@ZrimecSteve Christian nationalism is humans trying to restore Eden. Only Jesus can do that. There WILL be people who corrupt it even if it was rooted in righteousness and possible.

Believers can think too much. This leads to division, strife, and disagreement about doctrines or politics. The one thing believers can all agree on is our love, faith, and hope in Jesus the Messiah. God gives us a gift for thinking, but like everything in this world, even goodness is corrupted. What I’m trying to say is that sometimes the things we disagree about divides us unnecessarily.

@NASA_Tim @BIG_SGT_D They were there observing and angels have jobs. Gods still God. They’re below him. But they are part of his and our family. And they existed before us.

I don't understand the Trinity arguments. I don't understand what about this topic needs to be argued. Most people arguing about the Trinity sound like they've turned the Trinity into a cult. - Jesus said, "baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit." (Mat 28:19) - Jesus said, "the Father is greater than I." (John 14:28) - Jesus said "I will send the Holy Spirit." (John 15:26-27) 1. Father 2. Son 3. Holy Spirit The End.

@farmingandJesus @wordy_fiend As a former Calvinist I’ve found the “I uphold Calvinism but don’t label myself a Calvinist” rooted in distancing oneself from Calvin. He was just a man full of sin & his commentary on The Bible isn’t inspired. He also oversaw the execution of many he disagreed with. Not good.

@SamsaraSings @KateStantonSing The Laodicean church age. Just like the Bible says. Luke warm christians who are not strong in their own faith. How wretched the people are. This has happened to me. Why don’t Christians welcome new church attendees? I’m a baby Christian. Other Christians on here always tell me if I went to church, it would help me. But the one time I walked a very long walk to the only church close by, I had a very unpleasant experience. They were like a clique, looking at me as if I was a weirdo when I said hello. No one approached me or welcomed me. And when I tried to be friendly to them, I was ostracised. The sermon was great and the music was okay. But the people were not what I was told they would be at all. It broke my heart. Is this how Christians usually act towards new people in church? Everyone told me to call churches. The vast majority of churches don’t take calls and don’t return messages. Those that have called back asked why I think anyone would want to pick up a complete stranger to bring them to church. I guess that’s a valid point. We live in a dangerous world with a lot of scammers. I have been attending my best friend’s online church (in St Louis) since Christmas Eve. I always said hello and spoke in the chat but was ignored. Those in the chat all seem to know each other so it’s not at all welcoming. I love the music and the pastor so I’ve continued to attend. 2 weeks ago, a woman in chat asked if I usually went in person and if she’d met me. I told her no and who my friend was. My friend has taught kids on Sundays for decades and her husband is involved in putting the sermons online. So my friend is *very* well known. Now, that woman in chat said hello again to me last Sunday. But it took 6 months. Wouldn’t it be better to make all new people feel welcome? Maybe someone else is like me, brand new. I don’t find most Christians to be anything like Christ at all, to be honest. I’m sure He would have welcomed me with open arms. Shouldn’t we aspire to be more like Him? What am I missing? I read in the Bible that Jesus commanded “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” He also said: “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” I guess He didn’t specify that Christians should welcome new people to a church but I thought it’s kind of implied in His words. Am I wrong? Please help me with this. I’m a bit lost.

We should absolutely welcome everyone with open arms! I grew up in a church that WOULD find someone to pick you up. Most churches now are dead and without the Spirit. Just men giving speeches and pep talks mostly. I don’t have a church because I don’t fit in. I’m not conservative or liberal enough, had a kid out of wedlock, have tattoos, was in the army, etc 😁 many Christians don’t know what to do with those who are different

ALL of her questions would have been answered if she read my original post to which she responded — which even quoted the Bible twice. I think these people are Christians in name only. They should read Matthew 23. It’s not my place to judge but I don’t think these types are good representations of Jesus at all. He did not act this way in the Bible I read.

Your argument is a fallacy. No one has apostolic authority today. They are all dead. Paul did leave us this though. 6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting •Him who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel, 7 which is really not another, only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we have proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is proclaiming to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be accursed!  (Galatians 1:6–9, LSB) So if Paul were alive today and he either added to or contradicted the Gospel, he would be accused.

haha. These people really think that if Paul went into one of the churches to preach, they would turn him away because they already have 1 or 2 letters from him... obviously all they need.

So if a female praise team member sexually assaults an #SBC congregant, is it proof that we need to ban women from everything? Or does it mean that this is an isolated incident, etc, etc and the SBC just can't summon enough moral agency to do anything? Asking for a friend.
