I had to go get a very unpleasant procedure done at the lady doctor. It was one I've had before and I was DREADING it, but...apparently times have changed??
Because not only did they numb the absolute shit out of me, they brought a woman into the room specifically to HOLD MY HAND the whole time. Which somehow helped immensely.
Then, when we were done, the doc (who was wonderful) told me to go get myself a treat. As I was leaving, I got on the elevator, and this insanely beautiful
woman slipped on just as the doors were closing. And guys, she had a box of donuts. SPRINKLE DONUTS. I have no idea who she was, but she said, "would you like one?" And I said, "I was just instructed to get myself a treat, so YES." It was delicious.
Anyway, I think this needs to be the new standard of care. Boatloads of lidocaine, hand-holding, and magical donut fairies in the elevator.
