@mes4icon
Tweets are mine and not reflective of my employer or others. I aspire to be kind - some days it's a struggle. Typos haunt me.

@allie__voss There's a place for a conversation/testimony the man posted. More appropriate for it to be between the woman and another woman than broadcast everywhere. I had an interaction with him on something different (still about scripture and culture) and he was completely tone deaf.
English

I understand people sharing their testimonies but honestly the internet is not always the place for this stuff
Honoring your marriage and your spouse includes discretion about how you share intimate details

adding to wedding vows "I promise never to post about your past sex life for fake internet points"

@InezFeltscher Nicely worded. People often consider insurance to be a maintenance policy rather than insurance for unknowns.
English

Yes. Insurance (risk based protection against future unknowable incidents) is not designed to cover things that have already happened and are certain to incur costs. Yes, this was a problem, but not one that can be solved by insurance. This is like signing up for car insurance the day after you crash and expecting them to pay out.

@InezFeltscher No, we couldn't. Not if we had any kind of pre-existing condition. Sometimes couldn't even get ANY insurance.
English

@farmingandJesus Maybe not but I'd agree it's projection to a certain degree or immaturity of faith combined with legalistic training.

@david_shane @HeidelbergTimP This is just MSU. I didn't include Michigan. In most states, the highest paid state employee is either the No. 1 Men's basketball coach or football coach.

English

Don't know how they're going to replace Izzo when he retires (which can't be too long now). He might very well be the single most prominent "employee" of the whole university, and has been for a long time.

@SydneyLWatson Wind. All property comes with free wind. A lot of wind.

@jaysonyork I think conferences are popular. I meant that your opinion might also be popular (at least reluctantly agreed upon by reasonable people).
English

Unpopular pastoral opinion #15
The over abundance of Christian conferences has:
- undermined the importance of the local church
- fed the Christian celebrity phenomenon
- created a Christian tourism economy that could otherwise support local and worldwide ministries

@schotts @ghostofvangogh1 We have said this until we are blue in the face. If gun laws make states safer, CO would be the safest state in the US, NOT 7th highest for violent crime. It’s not rocket science….
English

@SqueakySays @Xenosmilus4 Without seeing the research, I'd guess that the maps from 1950 and 2016 for the US would be identical for the use of "splinter".

@mes4icon @Xenosmilus4 Those Newcastle types have always been a bit weird

@hey_mindi The point is not that $1 million is not a lot of money but that the CEO is paid well below CEOs in for-profit organizations. A lot lower.

English

@hey_mindi The lower paid jobs are in training positions where legal. Goodwill had $7 billion in revenue and spends as little as 7% on all operations putting the rest into its mission. CEO pay for a $7 billion operation? Below market value..

English

Did you know Goodwill made $2.1 BILLION in revenue last year?
They pay executives 6-figure salaries.
They pay workers sometimes less than minimum wage via a legal loophole.
They get their inventory donated for free
then sell it back to the public.
The thrift store for “poor people” is one of the most profitable nonprofits in the country.

@SarahjevsEvans I knew nothing about this post other than it was irreverent and funny since you posted it. Lost a few minutes of my life looking into it and can confirm. Just deserts all around (except for kids). Would it have ever worked as the family business was named after an old girlfriend?
