Chief Fortune Charumbira chased away from Funeral in Masvingo West In a disturbing event that unfolded earlier today, Chief Fortune Charumbira was forcibly removed from the funeral of Nyarai Mureyi in Masvingo West. The funeral, held in Mureyi's rural home in Ward 12, was attended by numerous community members who expressed their dissatisfaction with Chief Charumbira's presence. Nyarai Mureyi, affectionately known as Mai Themba, had passed away just a few days prior. Chief Charumbira arrived late to the service, coinciding with remarks by Honourable Takanayi Mureyi, the deceased’s brother. Witnesses noted that Chief Charumbira’s entrance disrupted the proceedings, and as he attempted to approach the podium, tensions mounted. Speaking at the funeral Honourable Mureyi castigated Chief Charumbira as disrespectful and bully and said Chief Charumbira must never sat his feet at Mureyi's homestead Many mourners were visibly frustrated, primarily due to Chief Charumbira's connection with the Zanu PF party and his arrogance. Some citizens who spoke to the writer of this article indicated that Chief Charumbira was accompanied by a group of Zanu PF women who began singing party songs, which many attendees found inappropriate for the solemn occasion. Their actions sparked outrage among the residents, leading to chants demanding that the Chief leave. Mr. Patrick Gumbo, a local resident who attended the funeral, explained: "People were angry because this was a time to mourn, not to engage in political displays. There are unresolved issues between Chief Charumbira and the community that played a role in this situation." As the atmosphere grew hostile, Chief Nemamwa, who was present to speak at the funeral, was seen helplessly observing as the tensions escalated. Ultimately, the Chief Charumbira was compelled to flee to his vehicle, escorted by aides as mourners confronted him. Later after Chief Charumbira ranaway, Chief Nemamwa spoke without any disturbance as mourners and family members of the deceased listen attentively. The incident where Chief Charumbira was chased away from the funerak reflects the ongoing political strife in Masvingo West, a region with a long history of political violence predominantly attributed to Zanu PF. Few years ago, political tensions boiled over, with several incidents highlighting the fraught relationships between Zanu PF and Citizens. For instance, in 2023, Zanu PF members were implicated in multiple violent confrontations, including the damaging of vehicles owned by opposition leader Nelson Chamisa during a campaign visit. Additionally, opposition councillor Esther Zishiri and other opposition members were attacked by Zanu PF affiliates at Diyo Shopping Center, further illustrating the volatility of the political climate.

Tsamba kuvanin'ina who just received 'A' level results and parents: 1)Go to the university and degree you always wished for, not what your friends are going for, from now, you are starting a new life, your friends for life will likely be those you meet at University, not to say you discard homeboys/homegirls but their choices don't matter now. 2) If you have fewer points, avoid applying for degree for sake of it, quickly accept you failed A level but life - you haven't failed, go to poly, apprenticeship, nursing and such like diplomas, trust me you would have made a great, bold choice. 2 years wasted isn't much in that case, some lose more in trying to fit in to what society expects- a degree, and they lose the whole life years. Repeating A level may not work. 3) Using this example, Maths A, Biology A, Chemistry C, Further Mathematics A. This is not 18 points but 13 points when applying for a degree, only main subjects matters, in this case MBC, F. Maths won't matter. Be guided accordingly. 4) If you don't get straight As, in sciences, essentially any traditional degree you choose you will be successful, in health science be it radiology, pharmacy, nursing degree, medical laboratory, getting a job is easy, very easy locally. What i have seen as very important is to choose what you love and enjoy. Not what your friends or family love. 5) Parents, my encouragement is let the child go for what he or she loves, not what you love probably because you know a successful Pharmacist it doesn’t mean your child will also be that successful in that area or because you failed to get same degree so you want your child to fulfill your wishes. You lived your life, allow him to live his freely and fully support her or him. 6) If you choose to study outside the country, research and make sure: i) the university is competitive ii)you can use the degree in any country, i know mufana who only became aware the degree only works in that country after starting the degree. Don't be excited about going outside the country for sake of it, no it has to be a good institution. Parents, your ego that your child is studying outside the country won't help the child, it has to be a good degree, at a good institution. 7)If you have straight As, apply to the best Universities, in the case of medicine in 🇿🇼, UZ, NUST, MSU in that order 8) Avoid degrees that every university has been mass producing for years with chances of getting a Job in Zimbabwe close to none, using that degree. Political science for example. I won't call them useless degrees. Rather go for point 2) above. You see, world is moving fast, don't be stuck on, " i need a degree ", then what?. 9) Avoid modern, fancy degrees. 10) Does the university you go to matters, unfortunately yes it does, in reality people will judge you accordingly. If you hardworking, exceptional, respectful, quick and willing to learn however - the Uni won't matter, it may take more time to prove yourself but eventually you will win. 11) Zambian Universities? Yes your entry requirements are 'O' level results, they don't consider A level results because they themselves didn't have it. They are now having their 2nd group of A level students. Specifically for medicine, I think its tricky, i wouldn't encourage, avoid if you can You are free to add your guidance from your area of specialty for benefit of vanin'ina. Ndini wenyu Dr Misheck Ruwende.

Zimbabwe was invited as Guest of Honor at the 11th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. Convened under the theme “New Quality Productive Forces: Powering the Global Tourism Economy,” the Forum brought together UN Tourism leadership, Tourism Ministers, Policymakers and Industry captains from over 30 countries to deliberate on Sustainable Tourism Growth, Innovation and Global collaboration. During a panel discussion, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, articulated Zimbabwe’s Heritage-Based Tourism Strategy, which places Communities at the centre of Tourism development as custodians of the Nation’s Culture, Heritage, Flora and Fauna. She highlighted the strategic role of Rural and Gastronomy Tourism in driving Rural Industrialisation, job creation and sustainable livelihoods through an integrated Farm-to-Market value chain supplying locally produced food to Hotels, Restaurants and Airlines. Zimbabwe’s leadership in this area was underscored by its milestone achievement as the first African country to host the UN Tourism Gastronomy Tourism Forum in honour of the Patron of Tourism Her Excellency The First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, reinforcing Community participation across the value chain. The Minister further reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s focus on expanding its footprint in the Chinese outbound Tourism market through China-ready products, market representation in China and Hong Kong and strategic partnerships as the Forum reaffirmed Tourism’s growing role as a catalyst for inclusive development and economic transformation. #GlobalTourismEconomyForum2025 #ExperienceZimbabwe #ZimBho👍

#BUSE and the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (@naczzim ) have forged a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionise the online artist registration system. The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a web-based platform that will modernise the way artists across the country register with NACZ. This innovative system will provide a more efficient, transparent, and accessible registration experience for artists, arts administrators, and stakeholders. #BUSE continues to advance national development in science and technology, leading from the front by integrating artificial intelligence into systems of governance, monitoring, and evaluation. #Shapingandcreatingthefuture #building #Zimbabwe #SilverJubilee
