It is such a capitalist position to look at Nigeria and say people should go and use libraries, or that people should forsake food to buy books. Yes, there are online libraries like Libby, but how many of them carry a good selection of African books?

I am sorry, but if you truly know in the deepest part of your heart that you cannot afford a book, then search for the PDF. Yes, it hurts the writer and the publisher, but I would rather you read. Reading saved my life, and if that is what might save yours, then take my money.

I am happy to have three poems in the inaugural issue of @theyarnzmag. To be counted among these superb writers gives me much pleasure. I am grateful to the editors for making this happen. We are building more space for unheard voices out of the continent. 👏🏿

I'm extremely grateful to @HEEMtheWriter and the editorial team of @JAY_Literature for nominating my story for the 2026 Caine Prize for African Writing. That mail made my Februaryyyy. To God, for love, life, and the gifts.

Having lived in Lagos & Osun, I loved and have been learning the Yoruba language, even vowed to inculcate it in my poetry someday. Now I have two great poems in @theyarnzmag with deep Yoruba references. My dream is to write for an artiste someday. Amen? 🙏🏾
