Some persons on X don’t understand that honoring a king isn’t “bowing,” it’s recognizing history and cultural authority. Tiwa Savage did the right thing, period. Tiwa Savage didn't lose anything, she gained more respect. Real power knows when to show respect.

I'll always fly the flag for Celia's Song by Tiwa Savage. People don't get how deeply powerful & spiritual that song is. Take your flowers @moelogo @TiwaSavage ❤️
Foza Billions (The Oracle)@fozadoza

The day @moelogo wrote this song, he called me and said was like “I just wrote a powerful song my g”. When Tiwa sang it, I cried. Phew songwriters are special. This remains my favorite Tiwa’s song. open.spotify.com/track/1MNfugB0…

one of the best songs by a Nigerian I’ve ever heard. Tiwa Savage deserves to be celebrated more.

The first time I've ever submitted to @RattlePoetry . The first time I shared some of my best new work. And my first rejection of that work. Thank you for your note, team. I am excited to read the work that made it in!

Well. It must be a challenge. Mass production is a part of print. I think @RattlePoetry is one of the most sought after publications for writers, but they're a small team on the staff end. How do they find the time to respond individually? They very obviously care about the quality of the work they print. And the persons who are writers who submit. But they also have to put out the banger magazine. If time wasn't a factor, do you think we would have received more individual responses?

What’s on my mind? I’m thinking about how these new psycho-surrealist works I’m writing as of late are either glaring proofs of masterful ascendancy craftwise or a multi-purpose loyalty card for Yabaleft. Or perhaps both. But I’m enjoying both the digging and what’s being dug.
