1. So nice to see the @PRePPeD_Trial results finally out open-access! This study moves us one step closer to a definitive, full-scale trial in rehabilitation after patellar dislocation. @BritishPFSoc Collaborations and feedback are always welcome!
The Bone & Joint Journal@BoneJointJ

A full-scale RCT comparing two exercise-based rehabilitation interventions for patients with an acute patellar dislocation is feasible with minor modifications. #Knee #Orthopedics #Dislocation #RCT @ColinForde3 @ProfJACook @MarloesFranssen @Oxford_Trauma ow.ly/CbUc50YqbtZ

More evidence on metabolic health and its relationship with Achilles tendinopathy. Our latest study supports this - In 8 million people, compared with a metabolically healthy group, MetS = 6–8× higher risk and 3–4× higher rate of Achilles tendinopathy
University of Delaware Physical Therapy@UDelawarePT

Prediabetes risk mediates the relationship between tendon structure and lower extremity function in those with Achilles tendinopathy. This work highlights that metabolic health is important to consider during treatment for this injury.

@King2980 @DrPeteMalliaras Hi Will. Both ways are possible. Persistent pain and disability may impose psychological burden. Equally, situational pre-disposition to psychological distress might precede the experience of pain/injury.

@DrPeteMalliaras Is it the fact your in persistent pain and have lost function that makes you feel depressed and catastrophise more or is it that those with pre-existing psychological profiles are more prone to tendinopathy?

3/3 But, PRP is not better than placebo in tendinopathy eg pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34342296/ Funnily enough, there was no mention of this in the recent systematic review by Oeding et al. 2025. Please share with patients. It is important that they are appropriately informed.

I'm very happy to share I have passed my PhD, which explored neural deficits relevant to pain symptoms and functional impairments in individuals with Achilles or patellar tendinopathy. If you are interested, you can access it here: bridges.monash.edu/articles/thesi…
