Progress on race in policing remains word salad, let’s be honest: conversation alone isn’t change. Resistance from many police SLTs blocked progress, undermining staff, officers, and the communities, policing is meant to serve. Accountability must move beyond goodwill to action!
Independent Scrutiny & Oversight Board@PoliceISOB

After 5 years scrutinising the Police Race Action Plan, we're publishing our final report today. Progress has been made, but it's been uneven, fragile, and far too dependent on individual goodwill rather than structural accountability. Read it here 👇 policeisob.co.uk/annual-reports

@McAdamNo5 @MetBPA @PFEW_Whistle Indeed. Almost 70% of PFEW's income is spent on PFEW itself. And as for the standard of "legal representation" and who they instruct to act for members ... Well ...

@joerichlaw @thetimes So nepotism, racism, careerism, opportunism, duplicitousness, and contempt for the people of Croydon from Starmer, why am I surprised anymore?

Golders Green showed how fast the state moves when communal fear is recognised. Jewish communities deserve protection. Antisemitism is racism. Black, Muslim, migrant communities deserve the same urgency. Say no to hierarchy of racism and religious hate open.substack.com/pub/leejaspers…

As I appear to be blocked by Oliver and can't respond to his allegations - no member has ever been denied access to our accounts and finance is a standing agenda item at our meetings. He will be livid when he hears some Federations are under criminal investigation for finance

This is the latest of recent attacks on @MetBPA which escalated in 2019 when full time office space and admin support was removed. The need for the association has never been greater and the timing seems suss with @Casey_Review due to come back now

@sarahknapton @JackJDees I have been a police officer for nearly 27 years, was on OFC in ARVs for 10 years and worked on the national taser course in 2022. I don't ever remember being trained to kick someone in the head, although any use of force can be justified in certain circumstances

@MetBPA @PFEW_Whistle It goes much further than that. File of evidence provided to PFEW in 2024 concerning the conduct of an unqualified and unsupervised "legal adviser" who acted for me. All members need to know what has gone on here - the same person/ firm may have acted or be acting for them.

THEY SACKED THE COP WHO TOLD THE TRUTH In September 2012, PC Jim Glanville did something simple. A Cabinet minister had just called police officers guarding Downing Street "fucking plebs." Glanville thought the public had a right to know. He leaked a photo of an internal email about the incident to @TheSun. He was right. The High Court later confirmed Andrew Mitchell (@AndrewmitchMP) almost certainly said exactly that. Here is what happened to Glanville. Arrested in January 2013. Kept on police bail for 11 months. Sacked in February 2014. Marriage destroyed. £13,000 in personal debt. Career as a firearms officer with a bravery commendation: gone. He became a car salesman. Here is what happened to Mitchell. He kept his seat in Parliament. He later became a minister again. The CPS reviewed Glanville's case and declined to charge him. Their reasoning was straightforward: a jury would conclude he acted in the public interest. The Metropolitan Police (@metpoliceuk) sacked him anyway. The Met also helped themselves to the phone records of Sun journalists using anti-terrorism surveillance powers under RIPA to hunt down who spoke to the press. Not to catch criminals. To protect the institution from embarrassment. Glanville told The Sun he would do it again. That should tell you everything about where the courage was in this story and where it wasn't. The word "pleb" cost a minister his job temporarily. It cost a police officer everything permanently. Sources: @pressgazette, @guardian, @ITVNews, @Channel4News

@TedHastings25 @PFEW_Whistle The legal representation from PFEW is abysmal. Members are abandoned at critical stages and end up paying out of their pocket for hand selected and often complicit, handsomely renumerated solicitor firms & barristers. PFEW does not allow members to pick their own solicitors!

@PFEW_Whistle Q. How good is the legal representation PFEW provides to members (as opposed to legal assistance provided to PFEW) ? I think this is a question that needs to be resolved.

Apologies for the silence. We have been busy behind the scenes. Many thanks for the messages but don’t worry: no we have not been shut down (they haven’t got that power) and, no, we haven’t been flushed out (they are not that clever).

@PFEW_HQ So, to conclude, the only thing that is transforming at PFEW, is, as usual, the pockets of the gravy train riders. The Decepticons are well and truly in control. We’ll leave you to decide who Megatron is…
