Progress on race in policing remains word salad, let’s be honest: conversation alone isn’t change. Resistance from many police SLTs blocked progress, undermining staff, officers, and the communities, policing is meant to serve. Accountability must move beyond goodwill to action!
Independent Scrutiny & Oversight Board@PoliceISOB

After 5 years scrutinising the Police Race Action Plan, we're publishing our final report today. Progress has been made, but it's been uneven, fragile, and far too dependent on individual goodwill rather than structural accountability. Read it here 👇 policeisob.co.uk/annual-reports

Why has the @MayorofLondon and @mopac alongside the @LondonAssembly allowed the system of @metpoliceuk Police accountability to wither on the vine? Why has he allowed the Commissioner to abandoned London’s Race Action Plan? You may well ask. open.substack.com/pub/leejaspers…

“To hear the CEO of Palantir using the serious matter of sexual abuse by Met officers to attack the mayor of London for rejecting his company and so cutting his profits shows exactly why Palantir are not fit to lecture anyone on values.” theguardian.com/technology/202…

A clear, non hyperbolic and factual assessment of the routine police pension scheme valuation. On 19 May 2026, HM Treasury increased the SCAPE discount rate to CPI + 2.0%, triggering an immediate recalculation of GAD commutation factors for the 1987 Police Pension Scheme. On 21 May 2026, these new factors took effect, reducing lump sums for 1987‑scheme retirees by approximately 5% for the same amount of pension commuted. Annual pension income is unchanged. The 2006 and 2015 schemes are unaffected. The PolicePay article provides a detailed, regulation‑accurate explanation of these changes. Give it a read… don’t go marching up @PFEW_HQ hyperbolic hill as the march back down will be embarrassing… again! policepay.co.uk/officers/pensi…

Un-necessary hyperbole and maybe if you hadn’t been asleep at the wheel you could have provided earlier communication to the membership. The schemes are re-valued every 4 years and it’s not uncommon that the contribution rates and/or scape rates are adjusted. There’s been adjustments at the last two reviews - why would this be any different? You also have a seat on the pension schemes advisory board… you can’t honestly say these things aren’t covered/discussed? The threat of legal action is utter nonsense - but your failings are continually mounting so I guess this kind of membership manipulation is to become standard practise - like the ballot on industrial rights. #BreakTheMonopoly

1/ Police officers who gave decades of service to this country have just had their retirement plans ripped up overnight. The Government has quietly cut the lump sums available to retiring officers in the 1987 Police Pension Scheme - with immediate effect. 🧵

The tide is turning – if not against Palantir entirely, then against the presumption that there’s no alternative to them. The British people are saying no, and it’s working. Say no to Palantir in the NHS here: goodlaw.social/8ppt

London already has Safer Neighbourhood Boards nobody knows, a Police & Crime Cmttee few can name, and a London Policing Board already marked by serious frustration and resignations. People are not angry because they lack information. They are angry because the system lacks power

Black Londoners don’t suffer from a knowledge deficit on police accountability. We suffer from an accountability deficit. The Mayor’s new tender is built on the patronising idea that communities distrust the Met because they don’t understand the system. open.substack.com/pub/leejaspers…

“We have also heard distressing claims of misogynistic behaviour within the Federation which we are told has had severe impacts on women police officers and Federation officers, undermining their work within the Federation and making it an unsafe and toxic environment for them.” - Baroness Bousted 2025 PFEW commissioned Op Sunrise report. The sickening thing is, that like others who have been targeted by @PFEW_HQ and its officials, having been treated in such a degrading and disgusting way, Gemma has no other representative choice. No other recognised organisation she can turn to for support, counsel or legal funding. Is it any wonder police officers in general, fear repercussion, isolation and adverse career consequences when raising concerns about criminal and poor behaviour/cultures, when the very body - forced on them as their representative voice - is clearly part of the problem and arguably one of the worst offenders. #BreakTheMonopoly policeoracle.com/article-librar…

“A federation spokesman said: 'The Police Federation has zero tolerance for inappropriate behaviour. Part of Ms Fox's case has already been withdrawn and, out of respect for the tribunal system, we will not comment on allegations or disputed claims which remain unproven.'” @PFEW_HQ here deploying the smoke and mirrors tactic - inviting you to think that because some of the claims have been withdrawn the rest must be questionable also. Anyone familiar with the Employment tribunal system understands that allegations outlined in the original submission - especially one drafted without legal advice as examples here - are often refined with legal advice and after further investigation, disclosure and evidence comes forward. As for the claim that they have a zero tolerance approach for inappropriate behaviour - there is a catalogue of evidence which points to them actively and vigorously defending inappropriate behaviour whilst trying to scapegoat, discriminate and victimise those who have tried to shine a light on harm and wrong doing. The organisation is rotten to the core and continually propped up by people willing to turn a blind eye and ignore serious transgressions so they can advance their own careers/positions and draw down on pay enhancements/expenses provided by membership subscriptions. And why, despite growing evidence and decades of reports all pointing to bullying, toxic cultures and poor governance does all of this continue - because there is zero accountability or pressure to change because of its monopolisation on representation. If the @ukhomeoffice @ShabanaMahmood @LabourSJ are serious about reforming policing they can no longer ignore the PFEW elephant in the room. #BreakTheMonopoly dailymail.com/news/article-1…
