Call it a millennial crisis if you want... But in my 30's, I realized I don't actually want the life I worked so hard for. I don't care about titles. I don't care about climbing anyone else's ladder. I care about time. I care about slow mornings. I care about peace.I care about bare feet at the beach with nowhere to be. I still want to make money... just not at the cost of my life.

Being here on a Saturday morning is stressful enough, DMV.

Even with my *manifold* critiques of the main office and executive management....I have to be honest about the fact that everyone has been really, really kind to me. *sigh* So this has been harder than I expected.

Because while I strongly dislike the mechanics of my firm....STRONGLY ....I truly, truly love my office....and my co-workers...and the partner I work for.

So maybe now is s good time to mention that today is my last day at this job. I'm technically closing finishing transfer memos and client stuff over the weekend... But today is my last day here.

My building contracts with a new concierge service every 3-4 years, and I ALLLLLLLways hate them at first. ALLLLLLLways. But I get packages like every other day...so I invariably get to know them all...and then I fall in love with them and are heartbroken when they leave.

Every time...and I do mean EVERY time this man talks....I am struck by what a Herb Usha Vance must be.

And I'm genuinely starting to think these older buildings just can't compete with this kind of heat. It was 82° outside at 3 am. Eighty-two damned degrees. I HATE being hot. HATE.

My building can't get cool enough. My hvac unit is shit (this is a long story), but the individual units can't get cool enough--I've talked to a few of my neighbors about it. My co-w lives in ARL and HER building can't get cool enough either. She's also had problems w/outages.
