You know, learning to love yourself means learning to 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 your flaws, your bad sides, your physical imperfections, and having confidence in the person you truly are. No matter what you look like, no matter what others think, you learn to 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 worrying. Because let’s be honest, you can’t please everyone, so live your life, stop worrying about what others think, because your true worth lies within you. And you know what they say: if you want to know someone’s insecurities, look at what they make fun of or criticize in others.
What matters isn’t your appearance, but what’s 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲. So naturally, if you’re a terrible person, without principles or values, you’ll start to hate yourself completely, to see your worst flaws in the mirror, to wonder how anyone could ever love you. And that’s your 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲. You weren’t born this way, were you? You became this way. Learn to find the part of yourself you left deep inside, you know, 'your good nature', because we all have one. Learn to love it. Learn to love your personality because it’s what brought you to where you are.
Was it your appearance that helped you overcome Life’s worst trials? No. It was your 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁. Did your appearance define who you are? No, it was your spirit. Don’t question your worth based on your self-image, because like any great artist, you will always see flaws that others don’t, and will always be more critical of yourself. The way you see yourself will always be more 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 than it really is. So don’t be too hard on yourself, and don’t be overconfident either. There’s a happy medium for everything ── Be grateful for the version of you that 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 gave up, even in difficult times.
Remember: someone who truly loves you won’t love you for your appearance, but for the person you are 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲. Your body is just a shell, a means of transport on Earth, your home, but what’s inside, THAT is truly you. We are who we are, and we must accept it. We can’t please everyone, either physically or inwardly, so stop worrying about it. And don’t forget that inside each cocoon there is a 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗹𝘆.
Now 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁 after me :
I don’t care about how others perceive me or what I look like, because I have a great personality, and I fucking love it.
