@GrahamSmith_ A head of state (hereditary or elected) holds the office of commander in chief of the armed forces. They don't need to have served: they automatically outrank everyone else. Think of it as a kind of anti-coup insurance, keeping the military subordinate to the civil authorities.

If you wanna send your kids to private schools, good for you. But I really don’t get how you can complain about fucking VAT when there’s kids out there who can’t even afford a school lunch. If you don’t get the disparity I’ll explain… state schools are crumbling, kids are starving and you’re complaining about VAT. @redditchrachel Nobody is denying you the right to make that choice: it's a simple taxation decision, that's all, but with the underlying principle of allowing every child more choice and more opportunity.

I am not ashamed of sending all of my four children to private schools at some point in their schooling. Something me and my husband worked extremely hard and sacrificed for. I wanted them to have a better education than I had and that is a natural thing that most parents want.
