There are many reasons why Sharia law or any similar religious law, cannot effectively work in the South West. The tragedy of mandatory celibacy is that the rule was born when church-organization overrode church-organism. When the Church codified mandatory celibacy in the 12th century, it was acting as an organization trying to protect its wealth from being inherited by priests' children

By nature, design, and purpose, the Church is meant to be the Communio Santorum, the communion of saints, a living family, the Body of Christ. A divine foundation. But celibacy took that away, in the name and favour of administrative convenience.

The paradox.

Many Anglican priests in the UK left the Anglican Church when they started conducting weddings for gay couples and joined the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church accepted them and, after a period of training, ordained them as Catholic priests, even though they were married. My local Catholic priest where my London home is was a married former Anglican priest who converted to Catholicism. So, celibacy in the Catholic Church is not a doctrine. It is just discipline. Those who cannot keep discipline, even if you let them marry, will still engage in sexual immorality.

I don’t understand the entitlement of young Nigerians that septuagenarians or octogenarians should be the voice of their generation. We all understand that aging folks aren’t spring chickens. Why’s our validation resting on their voices. They have done their part. Let us do ours.
