The beauty of Catholicism ❤️ The chanting of magnificat for MichaelMas Vespers at St Michael's Abbey in California. The newly built church of the Abbey was designed in such a way that the sunlight would strike the altar at the end of Vespers on the Feast Day of St Michael. There are currently 35 men studying for the priesthood at St Michael’s Abbey, which was founded in 1961 by seven Hungarian priests who fled communist oppression.

On November 1st 1950, Pope Pius XII declared ex-cathedra the Dogma of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, in the presence of over 600 Bishops and 700,000 faithful.

This weekend is Fr Philip's last weekend with us as our Parish Priest after 10 years of ministry to our Parish. Let us keep him in our prayers both in thanksgiving for everything he has done here, and also as he prepares for his new appointment in Banbury.
