First of all, natatawa ako. But let me unravel the seriousness and ridiculousness of your suggestion. For the past decade, I have been giving my comments about the ins-and-outs of the Pinoy Big Brother. In my 10+ years as a PBB account, this is the first time, it got suggested. So may award ka diyan. First Place kayo: SILENCE THE CRITICS. My account is ran not as a public article but as part of a "plaza" acting as a discussion forum. Some of my comments are harsh, yes. But none are defamatory in nature. None are false. And most of the time, they are opinions based on facts (happenings inside the house) There are 3 legal questions I usually ask before I post something - Will this cause further harm (highlight on the word: "further")? Because if the livestream or the episode already shows facts (video recordings) that are harmful to the alleged aggrieved party, will my commentary add further harm? Usually no, usually late na nga ako mag commentary (minutes to an hour late) - Is the matter is of publicly available information? As they are celebrities from a "CELEBRITY EDITION", making commentaries on their actions inside the house is of publicly available information. - Is the post made without malice? This one depends on the post. Usually, courts will consider tone, language, intent, and context. However, a reasonable fan after watching the episode and reading my commentaries (as compared to many more), I believe will find my commentary more reasonable on average. Have you seen the other comments regular people make about your idol? So yes, I can always invoke the fair comment doctrine as I always consider these questions whenever I make such posts. So why am I piling on this fan's post? Well, my dear maze, that's why you are losing the narrative. It's not that my posts are defamatory in nature, it is because you think my potential reach may be concerning. Is it perhaps my audience? Does my following count diminish the validity of my arguments and opinions (based on the happenings of the show)? Instead of engaging in rigorous discussions using counter-arguments, evidence or videos dissecting my own opinions, you use the threats of legal actions to silence dissenting viewpoints. You want to abuse the system to silence critics. I would like to repeat, I have been giving commentary for the past 10 YEARS of THE SHOW, and THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I RECEIVED SUCH A SUGGESTION - award! My advice, as a fellow fan of the show, DEFEND with better arguments - defend earnestly with videos, photos and ultimately campaign on your idol's positive traits To be honest, what is most insulting is that: I am prudent enough that when presented with evidence that discredits my opinions, I issue a retraction and an apology. I have done this when I jump the gun on predictions and happenings inside the house - just check my tweets. And to group me with someone that posted blatantly false information as if I did the same crime ... is well, to say the least, morally wrong. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk. Now I am more inspired to comment further about the show that I love. TLDR: Wala akong ginagawang mali kasi mga opinions ko ay binabase ko maayos sa nangyayari sa loob.
