I once did after my Dad fl0gged and punished me for something I was innocent of... Ran from home that day and went to a nearby government school and stayed in one of the classes. Apparently, he spent his whole day searching for me up until that midnight. Keep flying a decades old aircraft with rising maintenance risks and costs, simply to satisfy critics who will complain regardless? Now compare that to Nigeria’s power sector. The electricity problem is not something USD 100 million magically solves. The sector requires tens of billions of dollars in generation, transmission, gas supply, distribution upgrades, and painful cost reflective tariffs to the paying customers. At best, that amount may fund limited transmission improvements in a few areas. It does not “solve electricity.” Comparing the purchase of a presidential aircraft to fixing Nigeria’s entire power sector is simply a shallow comparison of two completely different categories of expenditure.
