It feels like just an attempt to generate revenue from tickets when the @NYCSanitation officers are out ticketing cars, but no street sweepers come. This has been every week on Monday / Tuesday, so assume it is not a fluke but their *actual* schedule (@ericadamsfornyc )

@GK_Ventures I think it would be wild if they did for music what they have done for comedy. Make lots of concert docs and then have festivals like the Comedy is A Joke event they have in LA. Also, make Comedy is a Joke a tour.

Netflix is becoming a more traditional media company. Outside of advertising, what should they build (or acquire)? - gaming? - theme parks? - consumer products? - hardware? - live events?

@paulg we've created this monster by optimizing for charisma and "being liked". We recruit based on twitter / linkedin brand and decide based on panels interviews and backchannel from ppl with no context. If the criteria is "likability" (fakers), is it a surprise they can't do the job?

The hardest people for founders to hire are so called C-level executives, because these people are the best fakers in the world.

@vibhu DTC needs to be thought of as just an early stage in a company's lifecycle. No where else can you rapidly iterate on a product (by product I mean physical product), get quick customer feedback and develop a critical mass of loyal followers. Nail that and then use retail to scale

An opinion I've been afraid to share: I think that DTC has failed, overall. I've helped launch more brands than anyone else so maybe there's something to it. The brands we hold up as beacons have been unprofitable for years. Every IPO tanks. Acquisitions are quickly sunset.
