Everyone always brings up Monica Seles but is Rod Laver actually the biggest “what if” in tennis history? He missed 5 full prime years (1963-67) because he turned pro & couldn’t participate in Grand slams. How many majors does he win without the old tour structure in play?

Just watched Pickleball Slam. Thoughts: (1) James Blake is pretty good, Agassi is meh, mostly just a banger. (2) the doubles played like a mixed game. Bouchard and Agassi were the weaker players. So a lot of Rside to Rside rallies. (3) ALW whined about not getting more balls. Well, again, it played like a mixed doubles match. She got about the right number of balls for the type of match it was. (4) in game 2 of dubs, ALW played some right side. Terrible decision. Made it easy to hit to Bouchard, just as would happen if a right handed woman played left side with a right handed partner in a mixed match. (5) it confirmed what we have LONG known about sports; men’s senior pros are better than the women pros. True in every sport, nothing learned here.

@NotJackKemp Awesome! The math is right there for people to look at. I’ve been watching this since day 1. $9.60 a month x 6700 members is $64,320 a month or $771,000 a year of rev + advertising income with low overhead is a great business model. You killed it.

I don’t do this very often because it’s unbecoming and we have a LONG way to go, but for those concerned, and read it how you want I guess: I did better in 2025 financially than I did at any point in my career at the ticket. Better than what the contract offered in 2028!

🚨Proton No Longer Allowed at UPA Events🚨 My guy, @alexeweaver has all the details and broke it first: Essentially, Proton owes the UPA money and because they are not meeting contractual obligations, UPA is no longer allowing players to use Proton paddles at future UPA events (does not affect Utah). The UPA did say if Proton makes good on the moneys due, they will be back in good standing. I don’t know exact dollar amounts, but rumors are swirling that Proton owes UPA into the 7 figures… Current Proton sponsored players that are definitely looking for new paddles at least in the short term (list not all inclusive – I am sure I missed some): · Genie Bouchard · Jackie and Jade Kawamoto · Meghan Dizon · Jalina Ingram
