THIS GUY SWITCHED FROM CLAUDE CODE TO CODEX AND THE DIFFERENCE IS EMBARRASSING he was on the $200 claude code plan. tried to merge 2 entities which required a database migration. changing server, making tests pass, changing SDK, admin, and storefronts claude code failed for 2 straight days it was deleting things it shouldn't, stopping on its own to ask if it could proceed even though he couldn't have been clearer, deviating from explicit instructions then claude literally stated that it was MAD and ANNOYED the AI told him it was frustrated. and started coding like it too. just hacking things together at all costs trying to force a solution he decided to try codex 5.5 on the $100 plan codex merged the backend, made the tests pass, ran the init scripts, then used playwright to test admin and actual consumers. back to back. one shot. 10,000 lines of code refactored clean his words: "the comparison can't be put into percentages. claude code was around 5% there and codex nailed it" he said codex talked extremely clear, followed natural logic, and communicated like old claude code used to a company that wanted to destroy engineers will be forced to admit their main tool didn't do a good enough job to write itself rn, claude code is losing its most loyal power users one bad session at a time

THIS 17 YEAR SOFTWARE ENGINEER JUST WENT OFF ON CLAUDE CODE AND CALLED IT COMPLETE GARBAGE this guy has been writing code since 2008. started using AI in march. 5x max plan since day one at first he was blown away. 3-4 sessions running in parallel in tmux all day. commits in seconds. answers in seconds. implementations in minutes. barely ever hit the limit then opus 4.7 dropped and everything broke before vs after: > "commit this" used to take seconds. now takes 30 seconds > "implement this plan" used to take minutes. now takes 45 minutes > resizing the terminal used to rewrap text cleanly. now lines get interlaced and diffs get cut off > ctrl+o used to show the full thought process. now it shows nothing useful > it now says "almost done thinking" like that helps anyone > he hits the limit constantly even after learning to split opus for planning and sonnet for edits but the WORST part is that it ignores instructions he told claude a thousand times to use short timeouts (10-15 seconds) for network programming. wrote it to memory. within one implementation cycle claude switches back to 30s, 60s, 5 minutes told claude to "NEVER AUTO COMMIT" a billion times. after a while claude starts auto committing again the guy uses /caveman mode for brevity. claude forgets about it and dumps a wall of text after every implementation claude can't even follow a simple 200 line plan anymore the plan said "change the signature of handle_input to take Bytes instead of &[u8]." claude added a completely separate function instead. said it wanted to "keep backwards compatibility." on a brand new project. there is no backwards compatibility then it started deviating from plans mid-implementation. tried to cut features. wanted to "ship v1 now, do the rest in v2." there is no v1 or v2. that's the developer's job to decide, not the AI's we had something good with opus 4.6. now it's garbage

ANTHROPIC IS STRAIGHT UP SCAMMING MAX 20X CUSTOMERS WITH SNEAKY MID-MONTH THROTTLING $200 a month is supposed to be the highest tier with the most usage but max subscribers are noticing their limits are getting silently reduced mid-billing cycle this guy was getting normal usage for weeks. 4-6 prompts in non-peak hours would hit around 10% of his 5 hour session after anthropic's april 23 "we fixed everything and reset limits" announcement, the same exact workflow on opus 4.6 now makes one single prompt eat 7-8% of the session > opus 4.7 uses 2-3x more tokens than 4.6 for the exact same prompts so your limits burn faster even if your usage hasn't changed > the dashboard has a multi-day reporting lag so you can't even track what's happening in real time > and when you contact support you get an AI bot that loops the same scripted response until you give up one guy on max 20x since may 2025 hit a 5 hour limit for the first time ever this weekend another said his final billing day keeps getting cut short by 12-24 hours and his start date keeps moving another one said limits are being quietly nerfed and things are "rotting and quietly breaking" in the background the pattern that people are facing: > paying $200/month > getting less usage than they used to > no transparency on what changed > customer support is a bot that can't help > opus 4.7 burns through limits faster because it's more verbose time to switch to codex
