@micconuk @Ramma_____ Appealing behaviour. I hope whoever did it gets what is coming to then
English

@OrwiteTreacle I respect what these fan groups do but if they think any mag wants a reminder of that game they’re deluded.

@micconuk @Ramma_____ Brexit would suggest otherwise
So Germans are ok but none white’s aren’t?

@ben3373 @pauljacques83 Tremendous this. The AI on Benno is a bit weird but the rest brings back a lot of memories

@GeordieKermit9 @Ramma_____ Thank you for your reply GeordieKermit9.
English

@Ramma_____ @GeordieKermit9 Also worth noting that the Jacobite uprising in the north east was led by a general from Bamburgh. It was only Newcastle that supported the German king. We’re far more accommodating to Germans on Wearside now thanks to St Nick.
English

@GeordieKermit9 Incorrect Kermit
Sundered Land was land set apart at bishopwearmouth & monkwearmouth by the river wear, centuries before this around 700 AD which incidentally is around the same time Newcastle beat them in a league game

At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.

@MGW_73 @RokerReport Lads who used to sit in front of me went on holiday every year at the same time. They missed the win that broke that 364 day streak. 😂
English

@RokerReport It’s pathetic like, short memories considering the majority of us will remember Bent scoring for Burton Albion and going 364 days without a home win. BACK THE LADS!
English

Aye, it's awful only being a goal behind in the Premier League against a very well established side, with almost a full starting eleven of injuries to deal with, and second choice players starting out of position to cover them.
Instead of making excuses, people need to start calling it out.

@RokerReport @kirbyhazard Dunno, what message does it send to the fans when they have to sit through that dross
English

@RokerReport Sorry chaps. Late to the party so might have missed this already. But…leaving early is less of a problem than people only joining in at Wise Men Say. The South stand keep it going all match. If the atmosphere is rocking people won’t leave early and the team performs

@ALS_Fanzine Wait. What? A fair and balanced assessment on Football twitter?

BHAFC: THE NORTH STAND
The following was posted in a Brighton and Hove Albion supporters' group on Facebook and sent to us as their fans thought we'd be interested in hearing their thoughts.
They’ve been a breath of fresh air this season compared to most promoted teams. Spent well (and needed to), defensively very solid and Xhaka should probably be on the list of Player of the Year candidates (but won’t be because he plays for Sunderland and that would never do).
Even when they were at their best earlier in the season, they were a relatively low scoring side so it feels inevitable that would catch up with them a bit in the end. When the 4th official put up 8 minutes on the board there was a collective intake of breath from us but they created nothing at all in that added time other than wasting two free kicks that we gifted them. Their right winger had the freedom of the SoL in the first half but all his crosses were appalling, so that didn’t help.
I also think they’ve exceeded expectations and effectively made themselves safe already so it’s no surprise if their injury list and current form feels a bit flat. As for the crowd noise... they were playing Brighton & Hove Albion at home and their next match is against the hated Mags... hardly a surprise that it wasn’t a red hot cauldron of atmosphere on the day.
I say fair play to them for what they’ve achieved this year - the challenge now will be to find a goalscorer to keep them winning games next season. I really liked it as an away trip... proper football town (city!) with smashing people. As for the game: it screamed of two teams who knew they were already safe, I thought we were marginally better than them on the day but if they’d gone and nicked it, we probably couldn’t have had too many complaints.

English

@RokerReport Can we also arm the stewards with cattle prods for people who don’t sing?
English

🤔
Mike Hill@anotherpiercer
@RokerReport regarding early leavers. Could the club introduce something like scanning your season card or ticket when you leave the match and if you are leaving after full time you accrue points which translate to free drinks, season card/ticket discounts, merch discounts etc?

@Flabbygast @Capt_Fishpaste This is quite a statement. A transaction. So if it’s a transaction and we buy into that then surely the fans should be expected to support? Otherwise the players can turn round and say “well you’re not doing your part”
English

@Capt_Fishpaste If you've turned up in the first place and then supported for the game, you're well within your rights to write it off when it becomes clear it's not going to happen.
Support is not an entitlement, it's a transaction. Always has been.
English

I know I'll get abuse from some for saying it but fuck it, I will.
Amazing how the people who absolutely definitely always need to leave early for various vital unavoidable reasons were able to stay till the end earlier in the season when we were winning games at home.

@matigary This is a very big move. I believe Libya tried it in 2009.

@Eddsyy It’s difficult to judge the man on stats because in his time here there have been two completely different scenarios without time to assess him on a like for like basis. Run it next season and cut out the championship season and that will be a clearer measure.
