@trussliz Any normal person would have faced a massuve penalty fine. Disgusting behaviour by HMRC.

The people criticising Jim Ratcliffe for moving to Monaco to be a tax exile, seem to think it's wrong for him to emigrate and thereby deprive Britain from benefiting from his many millions in income tax contributions.
Yet they praise and welcome with open arms the many people who move from other countries to Britain who deprive their home country of both their taxes and their skills.
Why do they think it's ok for, say, a doctor born in India whose training was heavily subsidised by Indian taxpayers to then move to Britain for a better life and higher pay even though millions of people in India can't access a doctor and are in desperate need?
Why does one have a duty of care to their home country for a lifetime, but not the other?

@JuliaHB1 The original judge had been a tory party candidate in an election, but nothing is said about his possible bias. I hasten to add that I fully agree with the original decision. Maybe the hotel owners should be investigated re possible links to people smuggling?
English

@supergran520 @Steve_Laws_ Methinks you're quite wrong on this assumption. If we were all that Christian we wouldn't put up with our own established Brits living on the street. Asylum = first safe country not travelling through +/- 10 others before getting in a rubber dinghy to get to UK!
English

@Steve_Laws_ We are still a Christian country so, no the majority do not agree with her.

The handpicked audience might be shocked, but the overwhelming majority of the public agrees with what she said
“It’s the amount that are coming over on these boats. They’re young men, they’re not working. Let’s go forward five, 10 years. Where will they be then? Still in this country, not working. And we, and I’m a pensioner, we are paying for these people day in and day out.”
“I don’t believe in any asylum. I really don’t. I think we are taking more than our fair share in this country. I feel very sorry for the little towns, little villages that these people have been put where people have lived all their lives.”

@thecarolemalone Just another liar joining the crowd of bunglers this government is turning out to be!
English

The woman is as thick as mince. If she can’t remember the companies she’s talked to really shouldn’t be a Government minister. This is dangerous!!!!
Suffragent@Suffragent_
Wow. Angela Rayner cannot name a single company that supports Labour's Employment Bill. This is painful to watch.
English

@kelvmackenzie I'm certainly not a fan of our current government but this is simply not at all cool. Personally I'm sick and tired of such disrespectful posts. One can have an honest difference of opinion but should always express it in a gentlemanly fashion.

@JuliaHB1 I don’t get all this self congratulatory “aren’t we wonderful we voted for a ‘black person’ guff. It’s very patronising, as if that was the reason people voted for her. I would vote for Kemi as I think she has moved past all this black/white nonsense & just gets on with the job.
English

The great thing about Labour's obsession with race (except when they're electing their own leader, of course) is that Tory party members voting for Kemi is "a proud moment for our country". But if Jenrick had won, it would have been because Tory members are all racists. Win-win.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer
Congratulations, @KemiBadenoch, on becoming the Conservative Party’s new leader. The first Black leader of a Westminster party is a proud moment for our country. I look forward to working with you and your party in the interests of the British people.
English

@kelvmackenzie Unfortunately you ignore the fact that certain pensioners get freebie TV licence so now you want them to cough up a subscription! If tv licence goes BBC will just have to attract advertising same as other independent free channels.
English

@Iromg Starmer and the media have successfully turned a protest re illegal migration into a racist one. No way can violence be commended nor excused but this underhanded manipulation of the real problem, ie lack of government immigration controls.
English

2,000 people protest about 4,000,000 people voting for a democratic political party. The left is eating itself with hate.
Paul Mason@paulmasonnews
Happening now: about 2,000 ppl protesting outside Reform's London HQ...singing "There are many, many more of us than you..." some with home made signs 👇🏽

@IsabelOakeshott @reformparty_uk According to Government website there have not been any crossings since 1 July so where did you get this info from?
English

Watching Labour supporters openly celebrating the arrival of more Channel migrants today is wonderful: it confirms everything we already knew about their attitude to illegal immigration. Imagine five years of this! @reformparty_uk
English

@leeharris Nick Robinson totally out of order changing Mr Farage's words to suit his/bbc agenda. Putin was not being supported at all. It is a fact that the EU push eastwards for their own grandeosement antagonised Putin. Red rag to the bull.
English

@darrengrimes Not just infuriating but a total joke that someone is getting paid to elucidate such utter nonsense to cater for a tiny minority. There is no need to change the English language on this way.
English

@AngelaRayner Bet you glad Sunak to weak to put Mordaunt into deputy role, she’s the only one who can give you any challenge. Dowden will be a breeze and will bumble through. Enjoy!
English

Looking forward to the next Deputy Prime Minister’s Questions, assuming he gets that far. The track record’s not exactly been great. #DPMQs

@hannahgib81 Back in the day of 15%, Lenders extended repayment term to keep monthly payments similar to pre increase amounts, dragging term back as rate fell. Are they not doing this now?
English

@ShelaghFogarty Public opinion is massively influential on the outcome of this debate. We hear the figures from BMA and I’m happy to hear the statistics from the NHS. The question really is how much additional tax are we all prepared to pay to fund the pay increase and other NHS spending?
English

@IsabelOakeshott @Telegraph So why take the job on first place, just to get inside info to then use to expand your so called journalistic career path? Used to have utmost respect for you but now that has sadly been somewhat demolished

BREAKING: Here’s what I have to say in response to accusations of “betrayal” #thelockdownfiles @Telegraph 💥
