Referendums are a question of Principle. Detail is legislated in Parliament after the fact. Asking for more detail is a hole-in-the-bucket argument - you can never bring them enough. Its a deliberate tactic by the Opposition to derail Indigenous advancement.

How in the fuck do we live in a country where women make up more than half the population and pay almost half all government taxes and sports club memberships yet STILL a group of shitfucked men at the @AFL (which sucks up enormous dollars in government funding) were able to quietly refuse to accommodate a huge international women’s sporting event simply because it might slightly inconvenience a domestic men’s sporting event and this news caused NO media push-back or outrage at any fucking time since … #NewsCorpse

One of the main ways misogyny and patriarchy dominate us all is that we’re raised to believe men have intrinsic value as living humans but women have value only or mainly via relationships to others. This is why the #WorldCup2023 commentators (even the women) repeatedly describe Aussie players in terms of their status or non-status as mothers. It’s an insidious and at least partly unconscious feature of how all women in the public eye are described: via marital/partner status or via whether they’ve given birth. It’s so ingrained we even officially label most women (but not men) using Miss or Mrs. Message to all media reporting on women’s sport: NOTICE YOU’RE DOING IT AND FUCKING STOP IT.
