Is search dead? 🤖💀 I’ve been at a tech conference the past few days and that’s a question I heard asked easily 20X. People are referring to AI Overviews showing when you search on Google, think mobile. Way to go Gemini.

Most Amazon brands are playing checkers. Smart ones are playing chess. What separates winning advertisers from those who just burn money? A system. Here’s the 3-part formula that works: 1️⃣ Relevance is king – Relevant targets perform better. Nail your targeting. 2️⃣ Data beats opinions – Guesswork kills profits. The best advertisers test, analyze, and optimize. 3️⃣ Optimization never stops – Amazon ads aren’t “set and forget.” If you’re not adjusting bids, keywords, and creatives regularly, you’re falling behind. Most brands run random ads. The top 1% run predictable, scalable systems. Which one are you? Let’s talk below. Follow my series breadcrumbs in the comments. Also, My First Newsletter is LIVE! Couldn’t agree more. You don’t know until you test. Great example from past 100 years. Eating foods high in cholesterol raises your cholesterol. Sounds highly probably. Wildly untrue and it started a generation of unhealthy eating that has in turn helped create an obesity epidemic. I’d rephrase to say, “Lots of things make complete sense but just don’t work and, when they don’t work, possess the capability be wildly dangerous to society at large.”

"The longer I live, the more I realize that many more things sound correct than actually are correct. Lots of things make complete sense, and just don’t work." - @BrentBeshore, from his 2024 Annual Letter Deeply right, deeply difficult, deeply relatable.

Congress is shaping next year’s federal budget now, and your voice can help ensure anti-trafficking and anti-violence programs remain a priority. Join me in asking Congress to prioritize funding for these State Department initiatives that protect vulnerable people around the world. ijm.quorum.us/campaign/15507…

I think that's a real, real thing. It's one of the things to be most skeptical of with AI conversation. If it sounds like "get rich quick!" it probably is wrong. I know that in our business AI has been a heads' down SLOG for @soundslikecanoe. The results are incredible, to be clear, but it definitely was not fast or easy.

My big fear for DTC operators in the age of AI is that they'll outsource thinking seriously about who their customer is and how their brands should communicate with them. Don't do that.

@TheNewAmerica77 @NewRiff Picked up a Single Barrel Rye @ 117 that drinks like a dream. The Kentucky Single Malt is amazing, and I don’t even like scotch very much at all. 😆 All the heirloom grains are great too.

I’ve had 0 bad juice from @NewRiff. Red turkey wheat is a favorite but haven’t been able to score a bottle. Sherry finish malted rye is legit. Should have left it off the counter cause house guests have gone through it. 😆
