I know you’re not and you’re right to credit DW. I give him way more credit for making the coaching change, because he knew the roster should be better. So he made the change and didn’t wait - that there is gold. Coyle, Wood and Lundestrom were great adds, but he saw it wasn’t working under DE. The most important thing DW was to do the change at HC when he did, or all this would not have happened and the potential would have been lost once again. I love everything that DW did. The change was the best though, by a long country mile.

@michaelnef44 @mark_scheig @UnionAndBlue I'm not discounting the coaching one bit. I think the style of play and approach from Bones has been a huge factor to get them to mesh. I don't think DW has gotten enough credit because he's brought in Coyle, Wood, Garland and Isac.

On Jan 12, #CBJ made a coaching change to Rick Bowness. They were in last place in the Eastern Conference. On March 19, thanks to their 6-3 win over the Rangers, they will finish the night third in the Metro thanks to a game in hand on the Islanders. 17-2-4 since the change.

@UnionAndBlue @Vinsaniti @mark_scheig It is a great point. But… if you plug in the same guys with DE as the coach, there is a vastly different outcome. We’re likely still bottom of the barrel and all the good additions were for none. Also, I doubt the additions happen because nothing was clicking under DE.

@Vinsaniti @michaelnef44 @mark_scheig I think this is a fair point. Great group of guys. Dean Evason is a great coach, but clearly the team wasn't responding the same way. They needed a different approach.

@michaelnef44 Great to see the Jackets in playoff position, but tons of work left. Always nervous when CBJ gets comfy and lifts off the gas. Hope Bones lets ‘em celebrate tonight, then back to grinding for 2nd in the Metro.

Also, Isles lost. #CBJ in 3rd place for Met and in an official playoff spot now. As many RWs as Isles and Habs now. It’s happening, folks!

@Vinsaniti @mark_scheig @UnionAndBlue It was 80% the approach of the coach, so that the roster was firing on all cylinders, making the great additions (worth 20%) fit right in. If the same additions had come in under DE, the outcome looks vastly different, so coaching has to be weighed higher, imo.
