@pulpo404 Whenever I go on holiday in the mountains I take as many of these heli-rides as possible. It’s scary the first time, but you get the hang of it after a while.

Brilliant move by Iran. They are planning to levy a 10% toll on all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This will generate $73 billion a year, completely offsetting US sanctions and paying for war damages. Checkmate.

Most startups I work with struggle with their Ideal Customer Profile and what it should be, whether it's focused enough, and how to stick to it. I cover those topics in my latest Substack post: nextfounder.co/p/escape-the-i…

@realEstateTrent I’ve seen people wait in line at tourist attractions for 45 minutes when they could have bought on the app and walked right in

@HellenicVibes Well, yeah, for like 10 days a year. Otherwise it's freaks like me who are happy to swim in 50 degree water when it's 50 degrees outside.

Real question… If you paid ~7% in taxes but never had to worry about medical bills again… would you take that deal?

@rohindhar @Kellblog Real estate is only slightly up. This house was listed way too low, which is why it sold so far over asking. If it had been listed at $4.95 in the first place, you never would have heard of it.

I’ll ask again Did parents in the 70s/80s/90s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies

@samsheffer Imagine if Apple just continued making products, and reducing them by price by say $50 a year, but keep making them, new model adds new cost, old model gets incrmentally cheaper.

@EffectPhugoid @C_S_Skeptic @Hoopss They are expensive because their costs are so high. Even at those prices many are unprofitable or barely profitable, which is why they go out of business constantly. Remove the tipping income, and few would survive

I don’t like the system either (I’ve spent years of my life in Europe), but it’s the system we have, and if you eat out here, you need to tip. If you don’t want to tip, don’t eat out. If you want the system to change, support restaurants that don’t accept tips, but those restaurants never last because 1-customers don’t like to see higher prices on the menu and 2-don’t like the idea they can’t reward good service/punish bad.

@CahillCarla @C_S_Skeptic @Hoopss My point is that the systems are equivalent. The customer either pays via higher prices, or the customer pays via tips. People who think they’d save money if we had no tips are mistaken.

@michaelrwolfe @C_S_Skeptic @Hoopss The difference is that Australia pays their servers a living wage. I know that hard for Americans to relate to, since American employers do not do that.
