UNL- voorzitter @CasparvdBerg sprak met @EllekeBal van @trouw over de megabezuinigingen op onderwijs en onderzoek: ‘Over het bod dat nu op tafel ligt is Van den Berg totaal niet te spreken. "De gevolgen van de totale inkrimping zijn nog steeds enorm schadelijk voor de Nederlandse samenleving." Hij noemt het positief dat de langstudeerboete van tafel is. Maar wat resteert zijn geplande bezuinigingen van grofweg een half miljard per jaar op het hoger onderwijs en onderzoek. Het kabinet hanteert de sloopkogel voor onderwijs en wetenschap. Gevolg: de grootste bezuiniging ooit. Terwijl China en de VS sneller groeien en juist méér investeren in onderzoek, sturen PVV, VVD, NSC en BBB docenten en onderzoekers de laan of het land uit. Onverteerbaar dom.

Onderzoek dat naar het buitenland verdwijnt, ben je voorgoed kwijt. In nog grotere klassen komen minder studenten goed mee en halen ze minder diploma's. Het is de grootste bezuiniging op onderwijs ooit, en dat is onvoorstelbaar dom. Laten we dit tegenhouden!
