The goal has nothing to do with Lewis Hall being right back. It’s about a desire to defend your goal & block the shot. He gets close enough to do that. I love Hall, he’s had an excellent season, but too many goals of late have involved him. It’s why he was taken out of the side.

@tfNUFC As you say, a mixed bag. Could have been 3-3 at half time but the fact is it’s not, so we’ve got to be happy with the score. We’re obviously lacking in confidence at the back so I’d say we need to keep pushing for 1 or 2 more goals. I’d sub the front 3 on the hour for fresh legs

@CraigHope_DM And I intentionally say players we’ve missed out on, because don’t forget we were reportedly interested in players like Desire Doue, Arda Güler, and actively negotiating for Khusanov before City came in.

@CraigHope_DM I said the same recently and it’s a shame last summer has tarnished people’s impression of our recruitment, because if you take a wholistic look over the past 4 years - including players we’ve missed out on - the success rate has been outstanding.

Some debate in comments on video as to “trusting” current NUFC set up with recruitment this summer. I’d argue that, until last summer (when there was some mitigation & subsequent bad luck) their incomings were among the best in Europe, a hit rate of unusually high success.

I only got into Northern Soul last year but it's a seemingly bottomless well of music. There was just so much music being produced that it was impossible for it all to be exported, and most people are only aware of the Motown Greatest Hits. There's scores of good stuff out there, and had they not been dug out of some backstreet record shop in Detroit by an English DJ and brought back to Wigan they might have remained eternally obscure.

@mikepitt84 Yeah, personally don’t see the absolute need to sign a young GK, they typically peak later on anyway. Would much rather sign an already world class act, yes they’ll cost more but I think people underestimate how key a GK is to success, sometimes.

This would be great (if true), though I do think we need to target a GK with more experience to come in as no.1. #nufc
