The difference is that culturally you're Western now and you were then. So, the cultures that Irish moved into would overall still remain homogeneous. Today the groups are wholly different from not only cultural, religious, communal, familial, and every other bedrock of civilization that exists but each one added further reduces the homogenous society that allows people to remain cohesive and flourish. By becoming more heterogeneous every single aspect of Western civilization is watered down until it is gone entirely and replaced with a new culture that has little to do with the old and where people are further turned inward and away from a cohesive community. Suicidal empathy has destroyed Ireland and much of the West.

Sometimes I lose my compassion and need a reminder that my own people were also casually labelled thieves and terrorists when they left their homes seeking a better life. Though this world hardens me heart more each day, may it never close my mind.
