If we had a functioning mainstream media, there would be dozens of headlines like: “Trump dumps bizarre billion dollar ballroom bill on already struggling American taxpayers” They *should* be absolutely destroying him over this. Why aren’t they??

This is the question worth asking every time a story like this comes out: if there’s no money for your health care, your kids’ schools, or the programs your family depends on, where is it going?      The Trump Administration just paid $17.4 million to fix two decorative fountains outside the White House. Three years ago, the same job was estimated at $3.3 million.       And guess what? The construction company that got the contract is the same one building Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom, and they got it without any competitive bidding whatsoever. The contract wasn’t even posted publicly, as required by federal law.      So how do you get from $3.3 million to $17.4 million? They added 27% for inflation. Then they added another 24% for inflation again. Then they tacked on additional charges that federal contracting experts said they had never seen before in their careers.      And the justification for bypassing the normal bidding process entirely? The fountains needed to be ready for America’s 250th anniversary. It’s worth noting that these fountains haven’t worked for nearly a decade. You want me to believe that: - This is something like the 3rd or 4th Secret Service failure. - Tump boycotts the correspondence dinner every year. - He’s pitching an unnecessary ballroom no one asked for. - And there happens to be a shooter incident at the event when a large number of his cabinet members and himself are there. And all of this is coincidence? Yeah. Ok.

Guys. It was staged. We’re not stupid. Well, not all of us anyway. They’ve figured out the only thing that shifts public opinion is the idea of an assassination attempt. There are going to be many fake claims at pivotal political moments, for the rest of his term. Bookmark this. It’s near certain.

Tremendous season overall from the Charlotte Hornets. Went from 19 wins to 44 wins in one year and held the best net rating in the league for a majority of the season. Heading into the offseason Jeff Peterson can’t afford to keep fringe NBA players in the 10 man rotation.

Hornets were dead in the water at 4-14. Nobody gave them a shot to make the playoffs. Finished the season with 44 wins, beat Miami in super memorable fashion, and were a top-10 team by almost any metric over the final 3 months of the season. Proud of the fight. They’ll be back.

#Hornets were one of the NBA’s best teams for three months and improved their win total by 25. They have a young core, a promising coach and a bunch of assets. This year was a massive step forward, tonight is a reminder there’s still more to be done.
