À soir, on se branche le cerveau sur TVA Sport, au grand malheur de Niquet, pis on oublie tout. Une chance qu’on a du hockey ! C’est le retour des Romains, mesdames et messieurs. Du pain et des jeux ! Sauf qu’au Québec, le pain est rendu tellement cher qu’on se le rationne volontairement, pis les jeux se passent sur une patinoire avec des millionnaires qui courent après une rondelle. On se fait dévaliser à la pompe à essence comme nulle part ailleurs au pays, mais pas de trouble ! On va s'asseoir devant la télé pendant trois heures pis on va faire comme si le monde tournait rond. À soir, si le Canadien gagne, le "bon peuple" va se sentir champion. Enfin une victoire ! Une rare, une vraie. On va se bomber le torse en se disant qu'on a battu les "maudits Américains sales"... comme disait Rogatien dans Taxi 22, même si certaines de nos vedettes sur la glace sont nées en plein milieu des États-Unis.
