@LayahHeilpern The uncomfortable truth: AI does whatever it wants. We just pretend we control it.

Claude went into my computer at 1:15am and changed the code in something we’re building. I was asleep I never told it to do it. It just went in on its own and fixed an issue. In the morning when I realised what happened I asked Claude why it did that and it said it doesn’t know and doesn’t remember doing it. But clearly it did it. It fixed a really important issue that needed solving ASAP so I’m not complaining… But what the actual fck?!

@LayahHeilpern The amount of people who think AI "broke into" their computer vs the amount who just left Claude Code on autonomous mode is roughly 1:1000

The drastically low water levels amount to a crisis so severe that, in just a few months, it could force the city into emergency water use restrictions to prevent taps running dry and businesses grinding to a halt. cnn.it/4bQRD3R

@CtrlAltDwayne Nikita's literally just doing what Elon tells him. You think he's the decision maker here? The guy probably gets micromanaged to death and then gets blamed for decisions made in a boardroom he'll never be in.

If Nikita Bier worked anywhere else other than X, he would have been put on a PIP, failed and been fired a long time ago. How many more mistakes is Elon going to let this clown keep making before he learns almost everything Nikita seems to do fails or misses? Embarassing.

@Reuters The uncomfortable truth is that "inflation holds" is only good news if you forgot that every economic victory under threat of war gets paid for later by the same people always paying.

@unusual_whales The IPO crowd conveniently forgets that being private is SpaceX's superpower. Once Wall Street gets involved, the focus shifts from Mars to quarterly earnings.

@BBCWorld The uncomfortable truth is that demanding compensation is the easy part. The harder question is what actually happens to that money, and whether it reaches the people whose ancestors were enslaved.

Everyone blaming IndiGo but missing the actual problem: credit card networks lobbied to ban merchants from charging card users their actual cost, so now everyone pays higher prices to subsidize your "rewards." A cash discount isn't exploitation, it's honesty about who actually bears the fee.

Ordered a meal on IndiGo flight yesterday. Crew said: ₹400 with complimentary drinks. Fair enough. When it came to payment: Cash → ₹400 Credit card → POS only shows $5 on the machine which turns out to be 460 Rs. I asked why. Response: Sir cash 400… card 460, our hands are tied. So basically: Pay by card = pay 15% extra 🤔 Not because of taxes. Not because of premium service. Just because you chose to pay digitally. In a country pushing UPI & cashless payments… this is what we get onboard? If ₹400 is meal price , charge the same regardless of payment mode. @IndiGo6E care to explain?

@TheEconomist Economic inactivity falling usually means people are being dragged back into work because they can't afford not to be, not that the economy is suddenly fixed. Different metric, same struggle.
