Dear internet. My darling four-year-old is fighting for her life after a massive stroke 8 days ago. She has Down’s Syndrome but has until now been living a normal, happy, joyful life with her mummy, dada and brother. I need hope. I need examples of recovery from similar cases 🧵

@ajarrodkimber I think that the Hundred (without rule changes to existing) could work well along these lines. Each match day is a double header, women’s and men’s teams play each other. So you have a men’s league, women’s league and “overall” league that combines scores.

@pledge_ball @RyanBaldi_ The first thing they can do is to stop flying business / first for executive air travel wherever possible / plausible at all levels of their organisation and set an example. They will save $ and reduce that portion of carbon emissions for exec travel by 50% overnight.

✈️🚗 At the 2026 World Cup, 85% of emissions will come from travel. Regular matchday travel matters too. How can governing bodies better support fans to get to games sustainably? More public transport? Better scheduling? Subsidised travel? We’d love to hear your thoughts 👇

It's taken me almost five decades on earth to realise the hot tap is on the left and the cold tap is the right. No more fucking burnt hands for me.

🤬 "Shame on them." Not our words - those of the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank. 💀 Barclays, Europe's biggest financiers of fossil fuels and main sponsor of Lord's have now left the Net Zero Banking Alliance. 🌱 Switch to a green, ethical bank today: bank.green

There is about 10 grams of microplastics in every human’s brain, on average, much higher than concentrations found in other organs. That’s roughly equivalent to the weight of a plastic spoon. It’s brought to you by Big Oil: their most enduring legacy (plastics are 99% oil) might well be the emerging global health emergency of plastics debris in the human body, our air, our food and our water; in addition of course to the climate crisis Big Oil, Big Petrochemical and other big corporations directly responsible don’t pay anything at all, as in zero, for their plastic pollution or its consequences. Microplastics though are the mother of all oil spills. Their toxic effects include oxidative stress, DNA damage, organ dysfunction, metabolic disorder, neurotoxicity, reproductive and developmental toxicity, cancers and other chronic diseases Microplastics are found in various organs and enter through different pathways (ingestion, inhalation, skin absorption, etc.). However, we already know that an adult ingests the equivalent of one credit card (around 5 grams) per week. It's a minor miracle we "only" have 10 grams in our brain for now. But microplastics aren’t just in our brains. They’re in our stomach, lungs, liver, blood, placenta, testicles and semen. That’s the case for every human on the planet Every day, Big Oil’s license to pollute at will and free of charge contributes to making this massive health emergency more and more completely out of control. They, and their many enablers, must be held accountable.
