His name is Sanjiv Chaturvedi. IFS 2002 batch. Engineer from MNNIT Allahabad. In Haryana he exposed fake plantation schemes. Illegal tree felling. Misuse of government funds. He was transferred 12 times in 7 years. In 2012 he became Chief Vigilance Officer at AIIMS Delhi. In two years he investigated 200 corruption cases. Rs 3,750 crore irregularity in campus expansion. Fake medicines being sold inside hospital premises. Corrupt officials at every level. CBI cases were registered against senior bureaucrats. In August 2014 he was transferred out of AIIMS. The health minister who transferred him later became party president of the ruling party. In 2015 he won the Ramon Magsaysay Award. He donated the entire prize money to AIIMS for treatment of poor patients. AIIMS returned his cheque. He has been in non-field postings for 9 years since then. 16 judges have recused themselves from hearing his cases. No government in India wants him posted in their state. That is how you know he is doing his job right.

A challenge in India. Such construction has to have approval of environmentalists, local communities, Supreme Court, opposition parties at local level, state and national level. And then paid journalist and various religious and ideological groups. Then military and governmental bureaucratic tapes. Finally the L1 bidder. With exact location and specifications in newspapers. And even if construction was done, elements from neighborhood countries will come to squat right next for intelligence sharing with all.

Fact check - misinformation against Army in Meerut. A video was circulating yesterday that some soldiers in Meerut Cantonment beat up an SDM, after being threatened by his security guards. However, the fact is that the security guards belonged to a private businessmen, and upon being checked at the entry gate, got abusive and confrontational with the army personnel. They even threatened to shoot the military guys - “Goli maar doonga”. The military personnel tried their best to calm these private security guys down, but I think the civilian guards got carried away, and crossed the line. Last heard, an FIR has been launched with local police by the Army authorities against these people, including the businessman. There was no SDM involved or any other government official. TBH, there is no reason for anyone to be so disrespectful and threatening towards soldiers. He is doing his duty. The nice and friendly soldiers you meet every day, also wins wars for us. They save us, fight for us, and defend the nation. Respect them ! Jai Hind. 🇮🇳🫡
