@Alexander_Lees I’m glad you think the same, pretty epic record and looks good too.

Last night’s SE wind delivered another two Yellow-browed Warblers at my ringing site in Rutland. Also the first decent movement of Redwings today, with 810 seen moving W or SW. I’ve now ringed an astonishing 6 YBWs in last 12 days @LandRbirds @c4hub @BeidaiheBirder @PaulDufour80

@PaulDufour80 @LandRbirds @BeidaiheBirder @Lufbrabird87910 @c4hub Thanks Paul. Yes, certainly good compensation, though I’d of liked to see the Warbling Vireo 🙃 While the numbers of Yellow-brows on the UK east coast have been similar before the numbers inland & on the west coast are probably the best ever, & more easterly winds due next week🤞

@c4hub @rg_stanford @LandRbirds I saw the first ones here on 4th, my second day back, there’s now a loose flock of 5; it’s too early to know if these are migrants or wintering birds

@BeidaiheBirder @LandRbirds @Lufbrabird87910 @c4hub @PaulDufour80 Yes, really extraordinary; the total numbers in the UK and Ireland must currently run well in to thousands. One of the birds today called briefly while in the hand but otherwise they’ve all been silent - and no calls heard in or around the ringing site before or after ringing

First day of ringing after our Azores trip & dead chuffed to be treated to a Yellow-browed Warbler mid-morning, alongside good numbers of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps. There must be an awful lot of them out there waiting to be found @LandRbirds @c4hub @BeidaiheBirder @Rutlandbirds

Another thoroughly enjoyable birding trip to the Azores draws to a close. While the weather didn’t favour any large scale arrivals of American vagrants (unlike last year) there were still good birds to seen (Alder Flycatcher) & found (Great Blue Heron, American Golden Plover)

I ringed my first Greenland Wheatear of the autumn this morning (wing = 104.5mm) here in Rutland @LandRbirds This is easily my earliest ever, I’d be interested to know when they first appear in autumn on the west coast @SkokholmIsland @bardseyobs or further north @FI_Obs
