This brave woman is Sasha. She is a DSNS rescuer in Kharkiv. Three days ago, she rushed to help people after a Russian attack when the Russians launched another strike.
Five DSNS rescuers were killed. Sasha suffered multiple injuries and, unfortunately, lost her arm.
She is now waiting for her prosthetic so she can continue saving people from russian attacks.

@Jamiemullen67 It was brilliantly run by Brian Moore, as it had been since 1970 when the panel was Malcolm Allison, Bob McNab and Derek Dougan and Pat Cretan’s, plus Jimmy Hill now and again. Look them up if you’re not familiar with them. A great World Cup made even better by this lot.

@CamillaTominey @DailyTPodcast @timothy_stanley Having seen who the winner and runner up apparently were, I demand a recount. Or at least a Stewards’ Inquiry.

@CamillaTominey Is Pravda covering it? I’m sure they could find time to talk about it on The Daily P!

@KarlTurnerMP @Keir_Starmer I think he’s playing hard to get rid of because if he can hang on for 5-6 more weeks, he might be able to pop over to the USA and, if England qualify, cop a(nother) freebie, this time a seat in the stadium for the World Cup Final, half time concert and all!😂😂
English

When @Keir_Starmer’s back is against the wall his instinct is to fight and when he does he performs best but it’s done. It’s over. He’s finished. His biggest problem is that he wouldn’t listen. People like Luke Sullivan tried to help him. He rejected it. He thought he knew best. And as a result it’s goodnight Vienna!

@CamillaTominey Quite right too. Flying your national flag(s) really shouldn’t be something you have to ask permission to do, ever!

Just checking: Labour has big moral issues with the Reform candidate's X posts about women. But they're perfectly fine with a man who pays prostitutes for blow jobs supporting their campaign?

A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.
