They used it as promotion. Everyone yelling and screaming on the internet got the word out about the movie, ramped up its reach and then when people went and saw it they were blown away by how good the movie was. I feel bad for people who don't see it in the movie theater. They will be missing out on what it felt like to go the movie way back in the day when Hollywood put out great movies.

Just saw the Odyssey, and I am furious. Everyone online promised me a woke slop fest about DEI Helen of Troy teaming up with transgender Achilles to piss on the grave of WESTERN CIVILISATION. Instead I watched a masterpiece of cinema with touching performances, good pacing, and epic visuals. WTF!? Not a single Trump allusion; no ham-fisted climate change allegories; not even so much as a “yass Queen” from Telemachus. 1/5 stars.
