Look at this Przewalski's horse chilling in the radioactive grass without a care in the world.
Apparently the radiation doesn't affect them. There are more and more of them.
They also use the abandoned buildings for shelters.

Regarding the Chernobyl accident, it's very interesting how in 1998 they settled 31 Przewalski's horses in Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, a rare and endangered wild horse from Central Asia that can't be tamed by humans. These wild horses are now thriving there, roaming around freely.
