Kremlin-affiliated media allegedly obtained a full transcript of the communications between the pilots of Azerbaijan Airlines before the crash in Aktau Several pro-Kremlin media outlets published what is claimed to be the complete transcript of the crew's communications. According to the transcript, after several landing attempts in Grozny, the pilots began requesting weather reports for Makhachkala and Mineralnye Vody, but ultimately decided to fly to Baku and then to Aktau. These decisions were made independently by the crew. The transcript also indicates that the crew complained about poor communication, with the air traffic controllers having difficulty hearing the pilots. Before attempting to land in Grozny, the crew reported that both GPS signals had been lost. Two minutes later, the pilots said that a bird had struck the aircraft: "Grozny, control failure. Bird strike in the cockpit... Uh, a bird strike and two seats exploded in the cockpit." Following this message, the pilots requested weather data for Mineralnye Vody and, four minutes later, for Makhachkala. The pilots informed the controllers that the aircraft had experienced a hydraulic failure. According to the crew, there was enough fuel for an hour and a half of flight, the engines were functioning, but the aileron and elevator control systems had failed. Soon after, the pilots decided to fly to Aktau and requested that firefighters and medical personnel be on standby. After switching to controllers in Aktau, the crew declared a MAYDAY distress signal and requested an emergency landing on a direct approach. Before the black box recording ended, the plane was in its final approach for landing. The plane Embraer 190 of the Azerbaijani airline AZAL, flying on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. There were 67 people on board the airplane: five crew members and 62 passengers. As a result of the airplane crash 38 people died, 29 survived.

The Russian forces have launched a new wave of offensive operations in the Kursk region according to the Ukrainian channel DeepState, Ukrainian Defense Forces encountered heavy fighting around Pogrebky, Green Way, Dar'ino, and Sudzha. While the main assaults were halted in most areas, the situation around Sudzha remains unclear. Russian forces are expected to continue these aggressive pushes with recently deployed units, likely attempting further mass assaults in the near future.
