Sold it under false pretences, then thought I'd cancelled the renewal via a phone call on the 03Jul but the membership fee has now been taken from my account. @Halfords_uk please sort!

Bit of a rogue tweet from me but if I teach you anything never sign up to @Halfords_uk motoring club. Aside from them chipping the paint off my bumper when they went to replace the headlamp unit to then tell me that wasn’t the issue (it was the issue, took it to another garage) their WORST feature is the cancellation process. I genuinely thought it was illegal to make a membership cancellation process so convoluted. I go to cancel my year-long membership half way through the year, no option to cancel online at all. Phone up and get told I can only cancel in the last month of my membership which for me was over the Christmas period. Phone up again in December to cancel and get told I’d be sent an email and I can cancel via the email in my last month. Email goes to my junk folder (ofc) and in there is a small underlined link to their online chat.. Via the online chat you get directed to a FORM to fill out to cancel your membership then get told at the end they will “review” your request. How insane Makes me so mad to think elderly people have signed up for this and have no idea how to cancel. You shoulda seen the reasoning I left them in my form ☺️☺️ Anyways rant over I just hope no one else has to go through this or elderly parents/gparents.
