@mikep123
Retired. Still enjoy investing in passion projects. I live in Bangkok now and it's nice. I am happy to meet such a good group of people here. Possibly geriatric

@TravelsCharlie Hi Charlie, I had no idea that they were in Emsphere. I did not see any increased securtiy when I was lunching there at all. Good shot!

@seftonhanley @KhaosodEnglish I'm not sure they could classify the Chinese as White middlemen, Stefon. That would be quite disingenuous.
English

"while middlemen — particularly Chinese “long” operators — dominate pricing by buying fruit directly from orchards, sometimes before harvest"
Ahh those sneaky foreigners again.. Engaging in free market trade with willing sellers. They should be buying from Thai middlemen at marked up prices, its only fair.
English

A People’s Party MP staged a demonstration in parliament by weighing durians to challenge claims they could be sold at 100 baht each, warning that such messaging risks undermining prices and the reputation of Thai fruit.

@jesperbkk Would you care to share the technology and logistics involved in this, Japser? I can imagine this working quite well in sports bar in Bangkok in which I could charge a premium table charge.
English

@Mark_in_Bangkok @TheUpperDeckBKK That we would Mark.
English

@mikep123 @TheUpperDeckBKK Would have been nice to see you Michael. We could have had a right old shindig

@LJP987 @aestheticsguyy @Raylivez1 Hi Lou, you didn't take the picture as you are in it and are not hodling the phone like a selfie style picture. The original poster made that a prerequisite of posting.
English

@CookinAsia @ThosMajor I didn't suggest that, Steve.
English

@mikep123 @ThosMajor It depends what you mean by a proper job. But if you're suggesting that it was a life-changing experience, then you'd be right.

The Hippie Trail, from back in the glory days when travel was adventure, not just visiting places.
The route was overland from the UK to India, passing through Iran and Afghanistan... yes, it was a different world back then.
Travellers drove homemade camper vans. There was the famous London - Calcutta bus. I had friends who worked for AsTran, driving 18 wheelers to India and Pakistan.
Of course, there was no social media. Countless adventure stories were never told... just some sketchy journal entries and a few old photos.
There were no mobile phones or GPS. Consulates would issue visas with only basic paperwork.

@jesperbkk That’s mass produced bourbon, Jasper. So it needs all the help it can get. To mask the taste. @JackDan110

@jwalkermobile Looks like ti was made by people who have never been to Japan, James. Yes there is technical craft however the preparation is far from the truth.
English

@papagell I suggest that it would be about 3% of the population, Stevie. This is given that in the 2021 census the percentage of moslems was 6% and men equated to half of that total. I presume it is the men that the government is after anyway. Due to the rapes.

Facial recognition in a country with a large chunk of the population wearing Niqabs & Burkas is pretty funny.

Hi everyone, I saw @KurtS tweet, (as Retweeted below) and I had a thought. If you are drinking in a bar by yourself, where would you choose to sit? I personally would choose a window seat to watch the strangers passing by, especially the beautiful people.
Kurt!@chefkdk
Current view. Narrowly missed getting sprayed by the entrance door party, they were focused on others.

Been chatting with someone I really like for two weeks. She has a 20-year-old daughter who's moved out.
Yesterday she told me that she feels I'm too emotionally attached to my girls and should be more hands-off.
My daughters are 12 and 13.
What do you read into that?
I can't get that comment out of my head......

@BKKSomchai Please may I participate, Somchai. Thank you in advance.
